Its almost done deal. We are just in the process of negotiating the $$$. Parra wants us to pay way too much. Its all about freeing up cap space for them and we are wanting a bargin. If they can agree on $$ then he will be here. 100%

How do you know this Mr?

SANDOW SANDOW SANDOW SANDOW

haha in all seriousness I think we currently could do a lot worse than sandow at this point. He has talent, get him back in QLD, put him behind a decent forward pack and if he can get his right we at the very least have a half for this year that isn't hoffman (this is the same hoffman that got moved to the wing because his passing game wasn't good enough for fullback)

Re: Round 1 - Bulldogs vrs Broncos; Pre-Match Discussion

Sandow actually has plenty of talent, but he really doesn't have the brain to go with it... This guy is at Einstein level compared to him:

If the Broncos get him for cheap then i cant see much downside. He played some good games for Souths before he signed with Parra.

If parra won't play ball on a bargain price, walk away.
If Sandow is just as shit for us or his Qld cup side, **** him back off to Sydney before the 2015 pre season gets underway.

Once you accept that you don't have to personally like every player that plays for the Broncos and respect them for their football ability its easier to accept giving someone like Sandow a shot.

It would remind me of when we were tooling around with Tim Smith, it didnt work out and no harm done.

I completely agree with the bolded and I think that thinking (that you have to like each player) is why we have a team of tantrum throwing choirboys. You look at any team that has one the premiership or been there abouts for the last few years and tell me there isnt at least one guy in that team that isn't a complete and utter harmichael that even their fans don't 'like' (but are damn happy he is in their team doing the shit he does)

I wouldn't be against signing him if he came at the right price.

He'd be a great foil for Barba in attack i think, but he doesn't really solve our lack of an onfield director ??

Could Hunt maybe shift to 5/8 and take on the organising role ??

Chris Sandow is the last thing our already paper mache defence needs.

I think halves are the one position where you can forgive poor defence if they give enough in attack. I mean there are so few quality halves in the comp that we can't be picky. You'd rather sacrifice one of the dime a dozen 2nd rowers to act as a specialist protector.

You will when he leaks in at least 4 soft tries a game down his side.

Yeah good point. Hoffman, nikorima and strasser are fantastic defenders

Throw in Alfie as well. Hardly a noted defender! But his attack more than made up for it. I'm certainly not saying Sandow is as good as Alfie, but give me him over any other option we have currently... It was only two seasons ago he was bring tossed around for origin. He can play, just needs the right environment. Maybe Brisbane will give him that?

If we sign sandow it just goes to show what a hole griffin and this administration have gotten the football department in.

The denials have come fast...

[h=1]Brisbane Broncos have denied any interest in troubled half Chris Sandow[/h]
BRISBANE coach Anthony Griffin has ruled out signing troubled playmaker Chris Sandow despite alarming performance statistics when Ben Hunt calls the shots at the Broncos scrumbase.

Hunt faces the biggest test of his career on Friday against Canterbury, with Griffin installing the 23-year-old as his senior playmaker after five seasons as Brisbane’s interchange Mr Fixit.
But data supplied by Fox Sports Stats underlines the mounting pressure on Hunt.
Since his debut in 2009, the Broncos have won just six of 22 matches when Hunt has been named in the starting side at either five-eighth or halfback.

That’s a success rate of 27.2 per cent, a figure Hunt will have to improve markedly for the Broncos to have any hope of being a premiership force this season.
With Brisbane’s playmaking stocks at an all-time low, speculation suggested the Broncos could issue a lifeline to Sandow, who is out of favour at Parramatta as he battles personal problems.
The Courier-Mail understands Sandow’s name was mentioned to Broncos hierarchy as a possible recruit a fortnight ago, but Griffin yesterday pledged to keep faith in Hunt.

“No, we aren’t interested,” Griffin said ahead of Brisbane’s season-opener at ANZ Stadium.
“It’s the first I’ve heard of it (Brisbane chasing Sandow).
“Apparently we’re interested in everyone, but I’m happy with what we’ve got.”
Sandow has been overlooked by new Eels coach Brad Arthur for round one.
The Eels are prepared to offload the $500,000-a-season playmaker, and former Test pivot Matthew Johns believes the Broncos should take a gamble on Sandow.
“The Broncos are short in the halves,” he said.

“Chrissy Sandow is a Queenslander and they’d probably back themselves to get him right.”
For now, Griffin needs his investment in Hunt to pay dividends.
At five-eighth, the Rockhampton product has won one of eight games, while Hunt has piloted Brisbane to five victories from 14 matches wearing the coveted No.7 jumper.
A former under-20s player of the year, Hunt admits he must perform or perish after a patient wait to be the Broncos’ first-choice halfback.
“I’ve always wanted to play in the halves, I’ve hung around for a while and now I’ve got the opportunity,” he said.
“It’s up to me to really take it and play some good football this year.
“It is a big leap (from the under-20s). When I first came into the NRL I was in the utility role and I wasn’t too used to that, but I feel like I’m ready to go and I have to show that this year.
“Anthony Griffin expects me to play consistent football, so hopefully I can start the season well.”
