With increasing cap if we could get Teo for 500k I would be stoked. People keep saying that we are short a Marty Tapou type, well here is Marty Tapau that can play longer minutes and has origin and premiership experience.

I think he was better than Gillett and Glenn when he won the premiership anyway, so he'd be an awesome signing. On the other hand, we've got too many back rowers already, can't even fit Oates there.

If we didn't re-sign Glenn or Friday, I would have been 150% for it.

I think part of the reason why it was taking so long for Thaiday to be re-signed is because the NRL took their time approving TPA deals.

Same thing happened with Lockyers last deal from memory.

True that... I've always liked Teo though, was really disappointed when he left. Just don't know how he's going to fit in our second row... Could Gillett be on the outer?? Surely not, but we've just re signed Glenn??

The figures aren't random. The point is, you can't just play fantasy football IRL, and cut & recruit on a whim. You can't just magically come up with a $420k piece of free cap , and shoehorn in a player who is in a position that's already oversubscribed. It'll take some serious shuffling to get him here. If you can get his asking price down to $350k (so you're only needing to find $270k in the cap), then that opens up the options and means much less shuffling.

Now that I've had some time to think about it.. I wonder if this might work. Our best metre gainers are McGuire & Parker, let's put them at the 2 prop spots and get them as involved as possible. Blair and Gillett are our best ball playing forwards, we have them on either edge. Te'o would be the glue that holds it all together at Lock, can pull off big hits and can run it hard. With Glenn & Thaiday off the bench as impact players.

Not only would this strengthen our bench, but look at how much better defensively this team would be, with Blair on the left side of the field instead of Glenn we'd be much harder to penetrate, not to mention having Te'o in the middle smashing the other teams forwards.
