Ya'll know I'm happy to bag Hunt when he has a bad game, but honestly he was the least of our concerns tonight, our forwards got absolutely dominated, Kahu was a non-factor at Fullback, both in attack and defence, Roberts had his worst game of the season (And still scored 2 tries, which further proves his class)

Chalk it up as our first poor team performance in 6 weeks and welcome back our Origin stars next week for the Roosters game.

Maybe Niko should have kept his spot at halfback and hunt to the bench. It's never easy to win at mt smart stadium against a warriors side under siege even with a full strength side. But I will say this....

f uck the origin period!!!
Kodi would have been an absolute speed bump if they ran at him the way they ran at Hunt tonight.

I guess people have to be angry about something. Nearly half our run on side was gone this week. Our spine bar 1 player was completely new and he has not played for six weeks. These are not excuses these are facts and any team who has this many changes are going to suffer. I actually thought it was good we got a couple of decent tries in and felt embarrassed for the Warriors, they legit should of put as many on us as we did the Tigers. If we can muster a few wins during the Origin period and not get any injuries we have had success. Don't get me wrong I was disappointed, a few players did not stand up tonight but it was like starting the season with a new side. Combinations ect are had to fashion quickly.

What could have been if James gavet pulled his head in at the broncos.

I would say our second poor performance, perhaps even third.

We performed poorly against the Titans, got away with it thanks to Gillett and Roberts.

Performed poorly against the Rabbitohs, a bit of luck helping us get the win.

We had a few above average individual performances in each of those games, thus not making it a "Poor team performance" in my eyes, you'd have a hard time convincing me a single person in our 17 played to their potential tonight.

On Jai Arrow, in that set after we scored our second try, he didn't actually offload the ball to the Warriors player.

It was knocked out by Hoffman and should have been a penalty if not for a strip then for an intentional offside as Foran was in front of Hoffman.

So people need to cut him some slack for that one.

Some may say that we were due a loss after a winning streak so let's just write this game off as that loss

Having Ben Hunt back sure made a difference ....we lost for the first time in 6 weeks.

and that was Hunt's fault?

do you really think Nikorima could have won us that game. given that our forwards were completely dominated.

I dont see origin having a future in the middle of the season in 5 years time. This is supposed to be a professional world class sport with clubs and players that put everything into their season. I see the GF superseding the SOO eventually. You would never see this kind of old school "We just put up with origin at this time of year" comments in the NFL for example where there is too much at stake and the ultimate employer is your club not your state or country. It kind of makes the NRL competition a bit amateur in my opinion.

Fair enough lost players but at end of day this is a time for the experienced non origin players to stand up. And yes hard coming back from injury but at some point Hunt has to admit he's not up to it psychologically and take some time out and get it right. He's becoming a sabetour. He's already got the deal so no negative except swallowing some pride. As for origin time broncs need to have a good hard look at themselves. Yes origin time is suspiciously close to rigged and completely unfair I agree and they need to throw their money and weight around to change this system instead of bending over and holding on for dear life but in interim need to try to adapt and see it as an opportunity to blood young players and make others take responsibility. Poor attitude. Poor planning. Stupid sh*t like displacing a half growing in confidence to be bench hooker, playing so many players just back from injury or first time in a season (why not rotate 17th man so have people ready for origin and injuries later in season and make it more attractive for young fringe players to stay). If there is a game we know we are likely to lose then rest all the origin and semi injured stars if second tier cap will allow so we avoid the larger post origin losing streaks (less issue next year with 30 in roster). Will fire up origin players to see team lose with all rested and NRL may get message if to ratings tank more on a Friday night game (although that's probably overestimating a certain organisations intelligence)

Boooooooo!!!!

Anyone predicting a win with all our outs is just a ****....

Well I'm guess I'm just a **** then (that probably comes as no surprise to some of you)

Against a dependable hot and cold Warriors team....and with our "match winning" halfback back in the side, yes, I was predicting a win.

We had enough ammo in the side. Unfortunately, we failed to fire. That has to come back to the experienced players we had not putting up their hand.

It is amateur organisation but origin is the showcase and big cash cow. Don't fix what isnt broken. Whereas NFL analogy doesn't make sense for me. NFLhas small number of teams and small number of games as the dominant sport for 300 million people. Completely different scenario. I like origin in middle of the year but just needs to have a pause in regular season to accomodate it and stop it ruining ratings for NRL.

I still think Broncos should take their byes on the first and last origin. Having this week off would help us to plan for which guys will be missing and who their replacements will be. You could then prepare the replacement guys prior to rd 15 by giving them more minutes in nrl or ISC. During origin we become reliant on the squad as a whole, but playing rd 12 seems to throw us straight into it with minimal preparation... This week was the first serious minutes some guys have played in NRL this year; Su'a, Fai, benji, Pearson, etc. and we needed them to be ready for it which they weren't.

I'm guessing the rd 15 bye is some whiz sports scientist initiative for fatigue management, but the team fell away badly last year during this period and looked completely spent heading into rd 15. I also don't see how having two byes within a 4 week period is beneficial??? It just breaks the rhythm up and stalls any form that is built in that time.
