If he had the best interests of the club in mind, I wonder if he would leave a year early if it meant getting Bellamy to Brisbane.

He always talks about moving older players on, in the interest of retaining any possibly better younger talent coming through.

I wonder if he'd do the same as coach?

Ha ha ha ha. Come on, man. Only one king in "Wayne's World".

Just read an article saying that Bennett said he would coach against the Broncos again and has already received multiple offers from clubs over the last couple of weeks.

Sayonara uncle Wayne.

Yep, I'd say he is gone.

Guess we will all know what is really happening when Craig has his press conference at 3pm today in Melbourne.

We should discuss the potential benefits of Wayne joining a different NRL club for 2019, would he take Boyd's contract with him? You'd have to imagine that's a big possibility depending on which team he joins. Let's go through the teams who would likely sack their coach to sign him..

Raiders & Eels are the two obvious ones, decent rosters that are just poorly coached and/or lack the correct attitude. Both of those rosters could use Boyd imo.. Raiders could move Wighton to the centres and Eels could move Gutherson to the wing / centres.

Well, that's one way to move on from the Sim's tackle saga. Unless there's another scandal they're shielding the players from.

Seems to me its just the Bronco's messing with the media.

Boyd has said he is staying at the club regardless of what happens with Bennett. He'll be finishing his career here.

The only way he leaves is if Bellamy gets rid of him.

I expect Bellamy to give absolutely nothing this afternoon considering its at the airport and he is king of not giving anything away in these situations.

Brisbane have admitted they're going after Bellamy and Bennett has endorsed it, so it sounds like it's in Bellamy's court now.
The fact he hasn't signed the Melbourne 3yr extension that has been on the table for a month tells me he is heavily weighing up the move..

The most interesting part of all of this for me is next year.
Bennett made it extremely clear that he will be coaching the Broncos in 2019, and I don't know where that leaves Bellamy.
I think if White can somehow get Bellamy the head gig for 2019, he will be here if not, it could jeopardise the entire deal IMO

I guess at the end of the day, as ruthless as it is, the broncos could just sack wayne and pay him out for next year. There is a big picture at play here, and it seems fucked to **** up the next five to ten years because of sentiment and stubborness over one year and a million dollars. Apparantly broncos are flush, so they'd recoup that million in no time.

Well bellyache doesn't put up with guys who don't play at 100%, so that's not an issue.

Boyd will either be back to his best or "requesting a release", win/win for us.

well you'd think that would be one of the positives, he gets moved to wing most likely or told to finish up elsewhere.

i don't think bellamy would put up with boyds half hearted efforts.

I'd say if it were possible, these sides would want Bennett in this order:

1. Bulldogs
2. Eels
3. Raiders
4. Sea Eagles
5. ...Cowboys

He won't go to the Dogs because of their salary cap issues. They won't be able to fit Boyd, TPJ, Haas and Fafita in their limited cap space.

This news just tells me that we need to re-sign TPJ NOW!

TPJ wants to be coached by Bennett. Thats why he is here. If they flick Bennett early then they are pretty much flicking TPJ as well
