Up there with this. Remind me again who the QLD fullback is:

I know it's a split second decision but why do players continually go high up to tackle? There is a chance of an offload, yes but cut him down with a tackle around the legs. Especially when you're a smaller man to the person you're tackling.

Also, I know they were targeting Edrick Lee but felt they missed a trick by not bombing more often to Young for Oates. Think I remember just the one bomb? Maybe a second.

Tackle around the legs puts a player on the ground quickly, so while you cut off the chance for an offload, you give away the fast play the ball which is often a much worse outcome. Going high and attempting to wrap up the ball while preventing the player from getting to the ground and playing the ball quickly is the only effective way to defend in today's game with all the ridiculous rule changes.

I'd love to see more players like Hetherington going in low and chopping players down at the legs, but it's not the best defensive method for the team anymore and players are trained to go high.

Gotta high light a hit Patty put on last night .
It was a clean rib tickler . I have criticised Haas for being soft in defence . Seems Patty and Flegs are taking up the slack for the big boys .

Also TMM should get friendly with Flegs . There are offloads available most every run . Flegs was being conservative last night . Had the ball ready to offload more than once .

That little step Flegler has makes people grab at him rather than hit n stick . That`s part of the reason he can get his ball carrying arm free so often .

I notice they've been coached to twist the legs, land the ball carrier on his back and get underneath them if over the try line. It's made a massive difference to our defence. Staggs, Martin and Paix were pulling it off with aplomb last night.

Also ripping at the arms .
Several tries have been saved by making the opposition loose the ball . Kotoni last night . Herbie previous .

No arguments from me on this one. Just stating an observation..
Turps should start looking for another club. He wont get a run anymore this year bar injuries..
Good to know the club has realised you need some speed from the 9 (unless you can read the game like C Smith)

I saw highlights of a young 9 coming through the ranks. He is a gun and looks quick!

Billy has a better pass .
Turps might be a better tackler . Billy is an option for kicks . Stick with a winning combo .

AOB trying to play the former team odds... with the amount of ball and field position Gee was gifting them it could've come off, but Milf couldn't create any opportunities, because his running game is non-existent nowadays
Did you see him? He looks like he ate a sheep :rofl

Herbie didn’t celebrate his own try, didn’t seem to have the same energy and is he there in that team song vid?
I've been watching him closely for the last 3-4 weeks and he's been the same every week. I think he's going to The Dolphins so he is not getting excited about how the team is building. I hope he doesn't but he is definitely not getting into it like the rest of the boys.
