I’m so glad Kevvie saved his angry man rant for a storm game. He has been so infuriatingly calm the last 3 years but I am SO GLAD he spoke up tonight!

his finest hour as coach.
(After he completely f’d up the bench but that’s by the by)
Think that is how you know the ref was cooked lol when kev is pissed off

I'll tell you what, go back to ANY set the Storm were defending their line and you'll see almost everyone move forward 5m BEFORE the ball is played. That is the definition of offside and it was literally called once...all night.
I refuse to blame the referee for that game not going our way. We never looked in it after Reynolds went off and we were only hanging in there at that time despite being massively ahead in penalties and even being awarded a slightly dubious penalty try.

Anyone still trying to cling on to any semblance of "sportsmanship" in the face of defeat after that schmozzle are huffing the copium a little too hard for my patience to be able to handle tbh. Take Kevvies example at the presser on board. It's long past time to be VERY pissed off.

You have to be blind or just willfully ignorant to think the officiating didn't have at least a 90% effect on the result tonight.

Who said anything about the reffing being poor one way? The ref was shocking both ways and that Coates offside was questionable at best. The penalty try was also pretty dubious. However, the ref LITERALLY called out Storm players for being offside MULTIPLE times and then said player makes a tackle and it is play on.

6-1 in six agains plus 3 sin bins to 1 has a massive bearing on the result, there is no two ways about that. That isn't squarely blaming the ref but it had a massive bearing on the game.

it was disgusting, I can take a loss but a game like that makes you not even want to watch the game anymore.

Getting pinged with six agains is a pretty good indicator a team is running out of puff. I see the horse and cart being put the wrong way around on this. It's not that the six agains are fucking you, it's that being fucked makes you sloppy in getting back onside. Same with professional fouls. We did well not to have a cricket score put on us. And that was partly due to refereeing decisions going our way.

Best to move on from this game. It wasn't pretty.
I disagree, they crowded the ruck all right with their knees and were offside countless times “even called by the ref”….yet he did literally nothing about it, every time he said they were offside. It wasn’t

ok

Their record against us is better at Suncorp than it is in Melbourne..

Our record @home this year is also much better this year.

And also, I hope Kevvie gets the team to drop like a sack of potatoes every chance they get next game because that is what this ridiculous version of the game has become.

Storm player runs into Flegler and falls over - PENALTY
Storm player runs into Walters and falls over - PENALTY
Smith runs into Farnworth and falls over - PENALTY AND SIN BIN

Hughes comes as third man into a situation he has no right to be a part of - NOTHING TO SEE HERE

This ref totally lost control tonight, absolute trash.

Very happy with Kev's presser, I've seen him disappointed before but he is absolutely SEETHING. We will bounce back next week, I am 100% convinced judging by Kev's reaction. He knows we weren't allowed to even get into the contest tonight and still managed to nearly win it.

Yep. I am confident he will commiserate the boys, sympathise with that trash they were up against BUT also tear them to shreds for the hail Mary plays and like of cool under pressure when taking the tackle was the play and not pushing the last pass that wasn't there.

It did but I'm more pissed off about the fact that we had all the running before they scored their first and came up with diddly squat.

You have to blow them away like we did to Parra. Mission failed.

Honestly what’s the point?

What’s the point of wanting to see a good, hard fought physical contest between 2 teams when every. Single. Week. The referee gets involved with 6-agains for absolutely nothing, horrendous calls, total inconsistency and players getting sent off literally just for making a normal tackle. Nobody can even identify what a hip drop is… right now if any player gets injured in a tackle then it qualifies as a hip drop and it’s 10 in the bin. It’s beyond farcical - this rubbish is completely ruining the game and making it totally unwatchable.

what’s the point being invested in, passionate about and supporting a team when the outcomes are pretty much completely random? We can be the better team all night and get robbed by awful refereeing and nothing EVER happens. It just goes onto next week’s lucky dip.

as fans, it’s hard to tell why we even bother. The product the NRL are putting on the field now is not only laughably amateurish, but it’s just bad. Nobody wants to watch a ref dictate results and ruin games with ridiculous, inconsistent, nonsensical calls and penalties and send offs for regular play that results in injury.

every week I want to watch less and it hurts because I love the Broncos so much but cannot stand the NRL.
