Sam has been very dignified imo. Disgraceful not to at least tell him over at least a phone call after his years of playing for Australia. Somebody should be hauled over the coals for it.
 
He has played as many games for Queensland and Australia as billy slater and cooper cronk have....... Im guessing it wouldn't happen to them....

Meninga getting appointed was great for Queensland but was terrible for the broncos, he has hated the broncos since he wasn't brought with Bennett in 88. If there was 2 players equally talented and in form but 1 was from the broncos you could guarantee the bronco wouldn't be picked. Morgan wouldn't be the player he is now if he didn't get the big game experience and education he got every year when he wasn't even performing, Milford wasn't great in origin but he did more in the half he played then Morgan did for 9 origins! (Calm down everyone, Morgan is good now but it took a free ride for 3 years to get there, if milf had this free ride he would be a lot better player these days 100%!). "But hunt was picked"-umm, I doubt he would be if he wasn't going to the dragons...

And I doubt very very very much that Kev Walters didn't call Thaiday or at least talk to Bennett about talking to him.

I don’t think so, the phone call comment came directly before the ‘last night’s news’ comment.

Half tempted to get on there and comment ‘anyone who watched you play this year Sammy...’

To be fair he has been a good servant of the game, but having a sook about things publicly isn’t going to help. Hooking in and playing well could have, but you didn’t or couldn’t Sammy and there is an equally fair argument that you could realise this, pull the pin now and free up your money so the Broncs can actually get some talent into their pack that WILL hook in. I doubt many see you going better next year..

Maybe he has heard a whisper or two that factions are trying to push him from within the club and he is trying to get ahead of that?
 
With McCullough likely to miss the start of the season and then likely needing 5-6 games to work back up to an 80 minute performance I can see sam playing a huge role early in the season. Whoever gets the hooker gig while macca is recovering won't be an 80 minute player so I'm thinking sam reverts back to starting hooker for the first 20 minutes for the start of the season to soak up the early heat.

Things might change come the pre season but that's how I see it playing out at this early stage.

Even the class clown feels sad every now and then. Most athletes fade away to obscurity and perhaps Thaiday is facing his rock star mortality now. It's the way the nrl and most professional sports are unfortunately.

You never know we might be holding out on darius if we sign ash for 2019 and the tits might want to offload early if they thinking about future and give us him early for a fee
 
We just don't need Ash Taylor as bad people think we do. At least not for the price tag that Titans are throwing at him.
