So someone who might have some connection to the club somehow, might have contacted the Cows about something, which was maybe the coach and thus, all things being as they are, we have an article about a definite attempt at poaching Green? Have I read that correctly?

You forgot secretly but everyone knows

It’s the Courier Mail / Channel Nine. What do you expect ?

They even chuck Lockyer in there as a possibility then rule him out as soon as suggesting him. It's the off-season alright.

Where are they getting Paul Green's "ambition to coach the Broncos" from anyway? I'd hate to have that sook at the club.

Are you crazy? He's a great coach. If you want a nice guy loser that achieves nothing, Henry is on the market...

Would rather Walters. Green might be a great coach but I can't stand whingers. Have always liked Bennett's style of the players having to own their own performances and not make petty excuses of the refs or anything similar. It just enables the players to do the same, as we have seen with their captain. Would also like to see how he goes without Thurston for a season or 2 before calling him a great coach. Same goes for Bellamy without Smith, Slater etc.

nashy for head coach in 2020. His candidate write up would be a ripper

He is the only coach in god knows how long to be able to get his team in a GF while missing both of their captains for the majority of the season, one of those being the second best player in the game, and with an injury toll that would cripple most other clubs.

Bad coaches don't achieve that.

Yes, it was a wonderful 4 weeks of football against a couple of teams that completely shat the bed.

....I know you may not like the sound if it, but Bennett is gonna retire one day, and I'd rather be replacing him with a proven coach then some dingbat like Taylor or Sheens

Teams that were playing better than the Cowboys, but the Cowboys still found a way to win while some of the team were also playing busted.

That's the sign of a great team, of a great coach.

But it seems people will let petty hate and sour grapes get in the way of seeing what the Cowboys managed to accomplish, something no other team has been able to accomplish in a very very long time.

Same, that's why I'd rather Walters.

Walters isn't a proven coach at club level ... and coaching Origin is completely different to coaching an NRL club

I'd love a coaching combo of Green and Cam Smith. I don't care about sooking in front of cameras anymore, they know it works and the key is winning.

Walters is the best available candidate, of that I have no doubt. That said, if you ACTUALLY had the opportunity, you'd take Green in a heartbeat.

In the past, I would have taken Bellamy but not now, too much history there.

Personally, I would prefer Walters.

I saw enough in him in what he accomplished with QLD to think he could be a great coach. But if the club decides to go with Green, I would be happy with that choice as well.

Whichever way the Broncos go, I think we'll be fine. They are both good candidates.
