NEWS Reynolds out for about 12 Weeks

We get a real look at 2025 now I feel. I get the sense that even if Reyno comes back, he might well be at the finish line anyway. He has looked really like he is battling the wall this year sadly.

If we can avoid more long term injuries, and that just isn't happening this year, we have the fire power if we can be fit at the right time to even win it from 8th. I am not worried at all.

Reynolds had missed 9 games due to injury since he’s been here.

49 out of 61 played. 2 he was rested, 1 he had COVID.

Is that injury prone? Herbie suffered the same injury in ‘22. Fogarty just suffered it.

It can happen to anyone.
lots of niggles with short outs, but this is his first big out.

I actually think long term this is great for us. Better learning it now than later. If he shits the bed we can go to market for a better half. At current outlook Reyno is back before finals and Jock has a shitload of consistent footy to play where realistically he should be winning a lot of games. The confidence will increase big time. Good luck to him, I enjoy the challenge, premierships are not and should not be easy to come by, if we can do it this year with all the adversity I will be over the moon. Seasons like this that can be special. Today’s game was another one where we just got fucked over by the luck gods despite not playing good footy also. Move on accept the issue for what it is and make sure we continue to **** some shit up. I back a confident Jock to the moon and back. I don’t back and hesitant Jock. Be confident and the world is his oyster.

I’d be waiting for scans for confirm before making bold statements like that
The nature of the injury makes them very confident it's a rupture. They reported that the ligament was moving freely away from the bone. Don't need scans to tell you when it's just floating under the skin.

This. Had a mate rupture a bicep in the gym. It's an unmistakable injury.

Sadly with how consistent his injuries have been this year, Reyno IS probably staring retirement in the face. When you can't stay on field for longer than 1-2 games without blowing a tendon or cramping up deluxe or blowing a hammy or having no end of troubles with a knee, you're in some grief.

the parts where Reynolds was actually not injured this season, his half back play has been next level. The kicks and passing have been top notch. It’s just so sad to see

I think this is now his third injury this year? Might’ve been another one in preseason? All different injuries too. I think we need to be realistic about it, his body isn’t reliable anymore.

20 years of playing league does that to your body...

We got super lucky last year. I think this is the mile marker to start thinking about hanging the boots up. Come back strong this time, one last hurrah for finals and if he goes down hard again, give it away.

100 Agree with this.

Give it a real crack this year, but considering Jock will have played majority of the season at 7, put him on the bench (aka luai / cogger in 2023 GF)

The season? What. Until late August.

I don't really see the point in being negative and losing hope.

Genuine question, what's the point in watching any more games with that mindset?

Rational thinking has a tendency to go out the window when emotion has taken over.

Now that I’ve had a chance to calm down and think it through more, I don’t think it is season over. Yet. If we go the next month without winning a game, you could probably say season over.

If Madden can do his job, that will take a lot of pressure off the likes of Walsh and Mam and with the amount of strike we have in our side, we can win most of our remaining games until Reyno returns. I think Madden has improved his game a bit since last year and he will have Reynolds mentoring him. His kicking is definitely better. We absolutely cannot afford anymore injuries and we need everyone to lift, but we can stay in the finals race.

I think top 4 is too big of a mountain now, but if we can maintain our position in the 8, we could go on a run at the back end of the year.

If we do make the finals and we aren’t top 4, could we win 4 hard games in a row to win the premiership? I guess time will tell.

If there’s any teams that can win outside the top 4, it’s us and Panthers.

Eels, Manly, Titans, Bye,

We’ll win them all and win well.
