We badly need an option here, and ASAP where do we look to fill this?

post your ideas here.

Ask Capewell to come back.

Dude can play middle, edge and at centre (well too).
Piakura deserved to be ahead of him but we lost alot of flexibility with him gone.

Tpj is the perfect and also the most realistic option
TPJ at his peak was a backrower attacking weapon but a defensive liability(at backrow due to him being too big) which is our issue now.

But we are not likely to get TPJ at his peak.

Just need him to come off the bench and run hard and with aggression through the middle most weeks. His ability to slot in at 2rf is just a nice benefit in case we cop an injury mid game

Needs to be a backrow/outside back option
As we seen tonight we can't play our 2nd rowers as centres against good opposition.
Oates and Hoeter are what I'd be looking at

if you are asking him to do a middle role that would be simple, but edge these days is alot more sophisticated, that and centre are very hard positions defensively due to the liability(the half) in between them that gets constantly targeted by nearly all set plays.

Has Piakura gotten through a game this year without a HIA or concern? its a real worry, wonder if its just tackling technique?

Both times we've copped the injury within the first 5mins... TPJ would be gassed haflway through the first half if we were relying on him to play 2rf in those situations

He had to lower his target area because of the high shots last year... now he's HIA'ing himself.

He's a weapon in defence though... don't want to take that out of his game.

TPJ. Can't be worse than what we have, could be much, much better if being around this team is the right environment for him.

Need Oates on the bench.
Every backline positions covered then with minor reshuffles and backrow short periods Oates could slot in there and for longer periods I'd be moving Staggs there with Arthars or Mariner to centre and Oates onto the wing.

Let's say we are full fit heading into finals, tell me this isn't a freaking scary team to come up against:

1. Walsh
2. Arthars
3. Staggs
4. Cobbo
5. Mariner
6. Mam
7. Reynolds
8. Jensen
9. Smoothy
10. Haas
11. Piakura
12. Riki
13. Carrigan

14. Mozer
15. Hetherington
16. Willison
17. Pangai Jr

But even without TPJ, surely Oates is the 17, he is exactly what you want there.
