Wilson played in the juniors at fullback and has some real speed to burn. Regardless, Taafe isn't a fullback that the dogs need. The dude has literally coasted his whole career off that souths run to the grand final when he was at fullback but even then that was more about the other players in the team performing well not him. His job was basically not to made major mistakes. He is a utility at best
That's a bit harsh. Taaffe was the best fullback in NSW Cup last year and considering how light the Bulldogs are, was deserving of an opportunity. He may wind up as a utility but to say he's being signed from his 2021 form is bogus.

I can't say I saw a ton of Wilson when he was at the Falcons, but when I looked into him following his NSW Cup debut the impression I got was that he could cover multiple positions and wasn't necessarily a fullback specialist.

If Wilson was to play fullback for the Dogs, he'd be more of a runner. Taaffe on the other hand gives them a link-man and it appears the Dogs are trying to improve their passing game. Which is why they have Salmon doing his best Yeo impression at 13.

With their lack of forwards, they NEED the passing / second-phase / shifting game plan because they aren't going through any league team on the planet. Their only hope is to try and have enough possession to run teams ragged from side to side. It is one of the worst forward packs + forward depth I've seen in a long time.

Ciraldo completely ignoring the golden rule of "gotta go forward before you can go sideways"... trying to innovate a sideways team without ever going forward.

Jirah Momoisea (Eels), Paul Turner (Dragons) & Zac Fulton (Sea Eagles) have all been officially released by their clubs.

Turner & Fulton will be heading overseas, while Momoisea is set to join the Bulldogs on a train and trial contract.

Bulldogs have filled all 36 spots, so I presume they've jumped the cue hoping the NRL will approve their request to 'demote' Oloapu.

For those wondering, the NRL have changed the rules around development/train and trial contracts. Development players can play from Round 1 (which is why Poasa Faamausili and Jacob Gagai were able to jump right in), train/trial players have to wait until Round 11 for their opportunity.

So apparently on 360 last night they were saying that Dom Young was all set to sign with Souths but the fall out with Sam Burgess ruined it.

If that is true, wow. That club is heading the way we did for a long time after botching up the Inglis signing, ironically, for Souths.

Dominic signed in February, Burgess wouldn't leave until August.

Unless there was more information, it just sounds like they're connecting dots.

Yeah that makes sense unless the Burgess rot had set in far earlier?

Not a player so not sure where to put this, but got told today that Bennet is going back to South's next season.

Can anyone confirm or heard anything about this?

From an insider South's source.

Big Ears has lost the dressing room, he's a dead man walking, Bennett would be licking his lips. It isn't hard for anyone to put 2 and 2 together here and come up with old mate ending up back there.

The bloke that told me is a die-hard south's fan and a deadshit to boot.
But he does have insider knowledge.

Funny though because he talked
about JD as the second coming of christ until this season and now he is the worst coach ever and should never gave been given the job.

I'm loving every single moment of South's season so far, and will be overjoyed if they get the spoon.

This bloke I work with shit talks the broncos every chance he gets, so I'm rubbing as much salt as I can in his fresh wounds this season. It's glorious and cathartic and so so childish but I just can't bring myself to give a shit haha.

I thought Bennett was done with Sydney teams tbh. I don't get why you would want him back anyway...you're just putting off what needs to be done.

I for one am loving all this with Souths. Have never been a massive fan of them to start with but with all the shit Bennett did on his way out here insisting that JD should be coach and JD's bullshit this is delicious.

Wasn't there rumours about WB and Parra recently? Seems he's definitely on the lookout for a gig next year.
