Have there been any players who have had significant neck issues come back well? He might go on to play still but not sure his career will reach any significant heights after this.

I can't stand what he did to the Broncs but wouldn't wish this on anyone.
Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad went alright this year.

Did gillet make a successful return after his neck issue? Might have retired…

Gillett's retirement was from a degenerative shoulder condition. He got a spinal fracture in the neck but returned and played on.

the wolf man (forget is name) broke his neck too. Can’t remember what happened though if he came back.

David Williams. It's a while back now but from memory he was never the same player after that.

Yeah that's the thing, some of them made it back but weren't even close to as good as they were before and that's the key. Given Sandwich hasn't reached any great heights anyway, it is a massive concern about whether he even can now.

Happened in the Battle of Brookie.

Wolfman is a strange case in the sense that he hit his ceiling very early on. He was parachuted into a Kangaroos jersey off the back of premiership success but by 2009 it was clear he was just a club player.

The Battle of Brookie was 2011, I'd argue he had a resurgence in 2013 and was playing better footy than he was when he suffered that injury.

Then it all seemingly came crashing down after the GF. He turned in a shocker and didn't really make much of an impact afterwards.

It seems highly unlikely......

this kid isn't good enough to deserve his own thread just saying, it just makes us look salty for a player who would of never made it here, good on him leaving.

You would never pick him over Mam who is basically the same age and a generational talent, so honestly let him do his thing at the dogs, no hate.

If we keep Mam that is, the longer he goes unsigned the more worried we might start to get.

I know he doesn’t want to play 13… but he could be a great 13.

Chicken sandwich must be even more pissed off when he sees the amount of holes needing filled in our backline lately. I’d be non too pleased with the people who gave him advice, and I bet he has some huge regrets for the massive sook he chucked with us.

Whatever guilt he felt would be outweighed by the relief of signing a long term deal. Karl was born with the neck condition and it wasn't up until he started having troubles at the Bulldogs.

If he's not wanted at the bulldogs I would happily offer him a train and trail for next season. If he proves to everyone and Kevie his commitment, then maybe a contract.

In hindsight though he might have been far better off being patient.

That's the trouble with many kids coming through today, they refuse to do their time and think their club owes them a living as soon as the media begins to blow smoke up their sphincter.

How do you figure?

If he's patient, he's on a much smaller contract when he's potentially facing retirement.

At least this way he's secured more money.
