A big start would be getting shot of those god awful collars. Walters was clean through on his run and was only halted when he was rag-dolled by that loose hanging collar. What was the club thinking when that shit was proposed?

Also, another loss with Adam Gee. Not that this one is on him, but the stats don’t look good.
I Dno why the media talks up refs who “put the whistle away”. May as well just have the bunker refereeing the game and not even have an onfield ref if he/ she isn’t going to officiate the gam

Edit: it’d be like if a judge just let two lawyers scream their points at each other and do what they want throughout a trial

Hunt has to be on the bench until Piakura stays on enough! HAS TO.

I want to know what Spencer said to Ezra that fucking piece of shit. Amazing you can say something racial to a player and not concede a penalty let alone stay on the field but that’s the benefit of the tri-colours I guess.

On that performance we have a lot of work to do. Reynolds kicking game was abysmal and our mistake rate was horrendous. It looked like we had never played together before.

Our defence was good but we really need to have someone go low as their forwards were walking 5 m after first contact regularly.

Staggs and Walsh looked ok, Ezra looked flat, I liked what I saw from Jensen.

The short drop out rule changes are going to stop teams kicking close to the line as much and will lead to running it on the 5th and handing the ball over as the short drop outs are now a lottery and don't reward field position.

That's two games in a row where Reynolds has had poor games. Hopefully he has got that crap out of his system.

Unfit team, ridiculous bizarre conditions, first game of the year, played with 16 men.

We will be better for the run, treat this like a trial, forget this and move on.

Concerned about Cobbo in the centres - think he and Mariner will needs to switch before the season is out.

Bad:
Cobbo looks unfit.
No backs stepped up to do Herbie’s yardage work.
Forward pack has no bully.
Kicking game was trash.
Young players were too frantic.
Coaching was dire (Patty to 2nd row is a fail).

Good:
Goal line defence was there.
Ezra and Walsh still look quick AF.
We get a bigger field next time we play.
Yup and for that reason Oates should’ve played until the centres could prove they had the yards

kicking was garbage. It seemed our mindset was to affected and nobody played well off the back and everything turned to shit. I have enough confidence we can turn it around but that wasn’t good enough from Coaches through to players.

Should have gone to the bunker for that to see if there was any audio.

Arthas to center oates left wing cobbo right wing

I dont think you can take the wing spot away from Mariner. He had a very solid and committed game. Same sort of game we would expect from Oates near his best.

Arthars gets run over in defense against the bigger centres. He's not the answer there either

I think Jesse has found his place on the wing and unlike people like Hoffman he's accepted he's best as a winger. I dont think though Mariner is ready for the centers either. Not sure Cobbo is. WE do have a few issues if we want to give these younger blokes a break as we have very few center backups with NRL experience, same with out edge back rowers.

Still think the young lads would have seen this like a holiday, and it becomes so difficult to switch back into 'on' mode.

Not excusing the shit performance at all, just seems like we maybe let the occasion get the better of us a bit.

Hopefully the experience and bonding will do us well through the season.
