Got beat by a better team. Had the wrong game plan and playing Boyd was wrong. Second time WB has done that from memory. We weren't forecast to make the 8 and have exceeded predictions. Would have started Offa and Thaiday myself. Didn't have a captain in the middle, a real leader. Did well to hold them early but as I forecast, the Storm were poor early and the week off paid off in the last 20. Exactly as I said and about the only thing that turned out right for me ha ha.

Overall, a good year and 12 other teams wished they went that well in 2017

it's been the wrong game plan for 2 years now and also haven't had a leader for that long as well. so who's responsible for getting a good game plan? bennett needs to re-invent his game but at his age he isn't changing anything so it's up to the board to make the changes

The best thing I take out of this season has been the performance of the forwards in general, especially the younger forwards. It's a shame Arrow and Ese'ese are moving on but Pangai Jnr and Ofahengaue have been enormous for us. I think Bird playing lock would be a blessing as McGuire belongs in the front row and with Blair departing McGuire and Thaiday would be our best starting prop combo.

Everyone was ragging on Hunt when they should have been ragging on Hunt and Milford. That was my point the entire time. I rarely implied that Hunt was playing well, merely that he was at least on par with Milford.

Won't win a premiership with Milford as the controlling half either. If he really can't play with someone else taking charge, then he's the real problem.

Also I think it's about time a serious discussion is had about Oates to the second row. He has been good as a winger, but lately his hands have really started to let him down. Moga's offload in the 2nd wasn't the greatest but any other winger reels that ball in.
