Is Norman unwanted?

He seems like a Wayne project player..

If the Titans wanted to ensure that Taylor doesn't reach his potential then the best bloke to sign as his halves partner would be Norman.

They should definitely be looking elsewhere.

Imagine the ego clashes.

I was in favour of him as a stop gap earlier in the season, but judging by this Norman isn't even guaranteed to be better than Niko. Moses, despite his questionable personality, at least possesses more of a HB's game and easily has a higher ceiling than Norman.

Can't agree with this at all to be honest.

To me the reason parra are plying so shit this year is because Moses has either taken control or Arthur has given him the keys.

Last year before Moses joined the club Norman was absolutely tearing the comp apart and possessed every play in the halfback arsenal.

He was a serious option for Qld until he did his medial against roosters. After the injury Norman took a bit of a backseat to Moses and chimed in as needed, but I was very impressed with how he owned that parra team last year considering before Moses joined he had Gutherson switching between 5/8 and fullback, a nobody at 9 and a merry go round for the last spine member.

In saying that I don't think he'd be a great fit for Taylor. Taylor's best asset is his kicking game and Norman already has that in spades (and probably better than Ash tbh)... so I dont see how Ash would be able to contribute effectively.

The alternative would be Norman taking a backseat to Ash which doesn't help the team at all.

Realistically the best partner for Taylor is a Milf/Niko/Hunt/Widdop style 5/8. Someone who can lay down some serious attack without needing to be the dominant playmaker.

Come home, Corey.

We need a half ... we do not need Corey Norman

Boy I'm glad you're not in charge of making recruitment decisions..

Nikorima - 18 games, 6 tries, 4 forced drop outs, 6 try assists, 5 line-break assists
Norman - 18 games, 3 tries, 21 forced drop outs, 12 try assists, 9 line-break assists

He may be a premium grade flog, but he shits on Nikorima from a pure playmaking standpoint, it's just a matter of whether we can get him back at a decent price, and whether we think we can re-form him as we've done with countless flogs before.

Green?

My information is that has he smartened himself up in recent months (this might be because he is/was on outer for attitude and performance). He alongside another back have been given freedom to leave if necessary.

I think it is possible he can come good, but it would have to be a military like regime and not being around friends that he has in Sydney. He does have the talent however and i would rather spend 400-500 on him than Oates. It sounds lunatic i know, but we cannot be held to ransom with Oates and would rather spend that much money on a player that is hungry - rather than a player that is not so hungry to be playing in a position that's best for the team. Norman is at the right age to come good being 28 before the start of next season also.

How many games have Parra won this year? Re-fresh me. Good stats...losing, pathetic team. Add MM's stats for reference.

Norman doesn't sound "hungry" to me. Maybe it's because I don't like the flog, but it sounds to me like he wants everyone else to do the hard work, and he just gets to throw the cool passes and bask in the glory of success.

Hey Corey, you made your choice - you chose the cash when you could have been part of the best club in the world. With that pay-packet came the expectation that you would earn it by being professional and working your ring off. It sounds like you haven't been willing to do either. Had you conducted yourself better, as a marquee player perhaps you could have been pivotal in turning the mindset and fortunes of the Eels around, and helped them to be the finals contenders that you wish to play with. Maybe.

Right now, you are showing the exact same (lack of) ticker by wanting to walk in to a successful team, without having contributed to its success or its culture. Like you have shown consistently through your career, I expect that you'll want to put in some effort every four or five games, and hope that the quality of the side around you is sufficient to carry you along when you don't feel like rolling your sleeves up. Do you think a genuinely successful team will want to carry someone like you?

Just as importantly, will you accept that a team that is already quality will not have the salary-cap space in order to accommodate the pay packet to which you have become accustomed? Should the Eels not be willing to pay you to pay elsewhere, and frankly, why the **** would they, would you be willing to take a hefty pay cut in order to achieve the success you are after?

My advice, coming from a fat lazy judgmental bastard behind a keyboard, is to worry less about what a club can do for you, and more about what you can do for a club. You have the undeniable talent to be one of the top halves in the NRL, and realistically, you still have about 4 or 5 good years left in you. You can make good on your talents, knuckle down, and use these last years to be the player that you should always have been. Be a catalyst for success, and not just expect it to fall at your feet. Or you can do what you have always done, and take the easy road. Coast off your talent, throw a few highlight-reel passes, put on a nice step, and receive high-fives from your teammates who are paid a quarter as much as you and put in twice the effort, every single week, and have regular holidays in September.

Sure, Parra is awful, and Norman may be a contributing factor, that doesn't mean we can just write off his stats for the season and say "They don't count because they didn't win enough games"

In fact, you could make the argument that Norman's stats would be better if he played for us, because we have a superior roster with many more attacking options.
