This has already been eluded to by other people in various threads, but it is truly baffling how Greenberg can still be tenable in his position after the past 6 months.

Even if you set aside the massive shitshow that was player behaviour and scandals, we also have salary cap shadows looming over possibly as many as 4 clubs, although Cronulla is the only confirmed one at this stage. And now we find out they could lose Shawn Johnson without a ball kicked because some genius at the NRL thought it was a good idea for Cronulla to be allowed to register a AAA standard signing, WHILE STILL AWAITING their fate regarding pre-existing salary cap dramas.

I mean fair dinkem, the NRL has always had this aura of perpetual amateur hour about its administration, but the past few months have frankly been beyond a f**king joke. Greenberg needs to walk away. David Smith was given his marching orders for frankly far, FAR less.

I long for the days of David Gallop. That's how bad Greenberg is.

It was always a terrible appointment!!

Agree. Not even because of how he's run the NRL. But because of how dodgy his own past was at the Bulldogs, how he effectively tried to sweep the exact same sort of bad player behavior under the rug, and now expects other clubs to take heed when he now says it's not tolerable?

That tin foil has never come off. He's been protected by the media, there is no doubt about it. And when a club as dodgy as the Sharks, who have been embroiled in salary cap dramas, doping dramas, etc, being smacked with a feather, with one of their biggest fans being none other than the Editor In Chief of the most powerful rugby league media group, you have to ask questions.

I think he's tried the best he could with influences inside the league that just can't be broken until those people are dead. In saying that, I've never liked him. He looks like a slimy ****, and his Bulldogs days were full of rumoured cover ups and slimy shit. Was a weird appointment to start with I thought.

He should never have got the job in the first place. But nobody is going to like whoever is in charge anyway. The NRL want to be publicized like the AFL and that means keeping things hidden. Or at least attempting to keep the shit these idiot footy players do hidden.

Is it Toddy or Nine responsible for how generic the coverage and presentation aspect of the game has become? Or both? I just hate it, the music, the phony staging, the ‘dramatic’ lighting after the game at Origin..it sucks big time. He is a bloke with a mundane vision of the game and questionable integrity and taste. Admittedly it must be a brutal job (not the pay though) but we need quality in these positions. As Nashy alluded to, once the old boys club dies off we might see some change.

Does it really matter? Personally I couldn't give a ****, just sit back and watch the trainwreck that is NRL. May as well get a goat in a tophat to run things. No matter who comes in everyone just ends up hating them within 6 months anyway.

I had a goat that would have been perfect for the job! Dumbest fucken animal I ever owned and was hated by everything else on the farm but too stupid to care. A couple of months ago I gave him to some vegans down the road. I figured they had a lot in common.
