It's certainly raking in the $$$. It's already over 300k.

Private school families tend to have money. Or else he kicked in most of that himself, so it appears to have traction and gets more attention.

Imagine people donating to something worthwhile than some multi millionaire crying about being able to use Twitter the way he wants while on a 4 million dollar contract.

Folau has been their best player for ages. They are going to be even more fucked without him.
This thread is not questioning his ability and nor am I. Can see the varied opinions here so not hard to imagine how this stuff could destabilise a side. Appears ARU thought so anyway. Wish him all the best - just not we need at the minute.

It was never about destabilising a side. It was about PR at a code level. And judging by what has gone on, and what their players’ restrictions were, they were right to sack him. Folau will lose, regardless of how much he/they spend.

I reckon he has a pretty decent chance at winning the case.

It comes down to being a role model to impressionable young minds. Kids look at these adults as demigods and they take their words literally.

Surely he’s breaking bad’ing this and doing it with his own money to generate exposure. Who the **** would give him $2k?

With all due respect, you don't know that. No doubt there’s a reason to sack your best player and your sponsors have a loud voice - but really!

I imagine a lot of people are donating because they want him to win so a precedent can be set. They want to be able to express their religious views (including talking about homosexuality being a sin) without fearing they will be sacked from their workplace.

Fk Izzy...had some hope for him before this GoFundMe shit....no hope left now. What a sick non human P.O.S. so many others he is taking funds from...that screen grab showing so many big donations proves too many idiots with too much money. I'm fuckin literally sick from this.

There are many religious people in Australia and many rugby supporters are religious. 94% of private schools are religious so it's really not that much of a surprise that he's getting a lot of support.

Over $400,000 now, the media is really helping him out by blowing this up.

There have been so many kickstarters and gofundmes and patreons in recent years, people are happy to part ways with money for almost anything.

The silver lining is that Folau's selfish gofundme crusade has unintentionally raised awareness for other campaigns that could seriously use the money.

Comparisons are coming out of the woodwork.

It does happen, but not to the huge extent of this example. I started a go fund me for a mate that suicided earlier this year. We managed to raise enough for funeral expenses and a years worth of mortgage repayments for his children. Still a pittance compared to this bullshit from Israel.

But has far more respect in a single dollar being donated to it Soup that is something to be truly proud of and an example of what it truly should be used for.
