Looking like Pakistan are tailoring the pitch to Afridi, looks to be an absolute road.

How does an absolute road benefit Afridi?
It looks like they are going for a pitch for pace, instead of your normal dust bowl. I believe pace took the majority of wickets when RSA toured there last year. But this pitch looks like a road.

I get that but a road doesn't benefit any bowler.

This is Pakistan .
Not India ...

I don`t think you can call road until we have seen both teams bowl on it .

I forgot Pakistan are known for their pace friendly conditions.

I said it looks like a road, because it does. It could turn out to be a lively pitch, we won't know until it plays.

We arguably have the best 2 in the world. They coul

Worded poorly on my part.

*Look to be preparing a pace friendly pitch, but instead turned out to be looking like a potential road*

Pakistan is not the same as other sub continent places- No Pakistan spinner has taken five wickets in a fourth innings there since 1986.

I know they haven't played there for a while but that's still a telling stat.

Fourth innings record in Pakistan in that time 94 games at 33.
Australia is 322 games 30.46.

It's never a dust bowl. They have taken all the grass off- if they wanted a pace friendly pitch you would leave it on.

Also Rauf and Ali are out- that's a big hole in their three man pace attack.

I don't think it is a telling stat when you say a 5fa in 4th innings hasn't been taken since 1986, when there was a 10+ year absence of cricket. It would be more interesting/telling if we knew the amount of tests, as going off years can be misleading with the gap.

The comparison for the 4th innings records is interesting and surprising (I'm assuming the numbers you listed are what spinners average in 4th dig)

I know, which I responded to in the last part of my post. The way your post read was the interesting stat you thought of was the 1984 part.

Nothing I hate more than watching crowd less test matches in the sub-continent. I feel like I saw something about crowds. But are we expecting big crowds?

I'm so not sold on Carey, I thought he was supposed to be a gun keeper?

He’s shit his best format is white ball cricket and he hasn’t been able to make the sides of late. Inglis is far superior in all facets of test cricket. Batting and glove work.
