You get me at a different time and my pessimism kicks in. Hard to see panthers not being the top 2 choices 😔

I don't think fans (and Penrith) realise what a big loss Crichton is. They've won so many games (including grand finals) of some of his plays. It'll be like when Latrell left the Roosters (he was always a better centre).

FWIW Gus earlier in the week said it will likely be Broncos and Panthers there again at the end of the year and if anyone else is going to win it, it will be the Broncs. He doesn't see any of the other teams having improved enough to match it with the top 2 considering the huge gulf between them and the rest of the comp by the end of last year.

Having said that, it's a long season and it starts again next weekend - the boys have to climb that hill all over again.

They will need to prove they can get over the mental scars. They can say they have put it behind them, but it's always going to be there in the back of their minds. That's just human nature.

The Roosters and potentially Rabbits have the teams to get up there but depends on injuries. I too thing there is still a gap between the top two than everyone else still too but not as much as last year.

Mental scars us overrated. If anything they should use that loss to fuel the anger! We should destroy every team by 50 this year! No smiling for anyone!

I'm getting angry just typing this. 😤
