You don't blood 3-4 forwards in one origin game. The old heads are there for a reason. They know what it takes to get the job done. I have full faith in Lillyman and Myles to get the job done if selected.

Its not ideal, but in 2001 7 forwards debuted in game 1... Kevin Campion, John buttegieg, Petero, Brad Meyers, Carl Webb, Chris Beatie, and John Doyle. Dane Carlaw also debuted in game 2. No problem with Lillyman and Myles if theyre best players available, but I think its time to move on, and there are other players ready.

What more does James Roberts have to do to get selected ... It has been reported that Hayne and Dugan will be the centers for NSW ...

It is great news for QLD that the NSW selectors are still intent on giving them a helping hand
Love to know the reason why Roberts isn't a contender. Just don't get it either.

I love Boydy, but Slater should seriously be there. The team is better with him in it.

Considering Roberts' behaviour during the off-season, I don't blame Daley sticking with Duges. Hell, I'd probably pick Bird ahead of Roberts based on the direction of the team.

Until Roberts gets through an entire season without acting up, I wouldn't pick him unless there is a huge injury toll.

Hopefully it fires him up and tears it up the rest of the season

Someone light a candle for Wallace, there's a decent chance he won't even get a run this series..

This Qld team has been kept pretty secret if the media reports are any indication. I have heard Slater is certain then he is overlooked on a different station also Munster is in then not along with O'neil and a couple of others.
A lot of guessing going on.

With Milford emerging as a likely Cronk / JT replacement for 2018, Bird being a permanent fixture in the Blues side and the decent chance that Roberts & Sims will be featured in the Origin sides in the next 12 months, we're going to have a LOT of players out during Origin next year, and that's without considering the possibility that Cameron Smith also retires, which would likely see McCullough in the box seat to replace him, there's a scenario in which 9 or 10 of our players are playing Origin next year.

1. Boyd (c)
2. Oates
3. Roberts
4. Bird
5. Kahu
6. Milford
7. Nikorima
8. Sims
9. McCullough
10. Blair
11. Thaiday
12. Gillett
13. McGuire

9. McCullough/Friend
10. Wallace
11. Cooper
12. Lowe
13. Hess

14. Granville
15. Lawrence
16. Sims
17. Kaufusi

Brenko Lee / Ricky Leutele for the right centre spot, apart from that it looks good, would be a strong team.

I honestly think we (Qld) are in trouble in this first game.

1 While Boyd is all class , Slater is in a class of his own. The best full back I have ever seen. Big mistake leaving him out. He looks fully fit and rearing to go. Boyd should be in the team ,just not fullback.

2 I honestly don't think Milford is ready to play 5/8 in origin. His kicking and his passing game is just not there yet. Beter option would have been Morgan , Slater or Boyd or even DCE. Just hope JT makes it back.

3 Picking Myles is taking the staying loyal thing a bit too far. He is doing nothing at Manly. Hess would have been a much better choice.

4 Its a tossup between Gagai and Holmes , but I would have gone with Holmes.

Disagree with 2 and 4, the other points are bang on.

Milford has that youthful confidence to shine on the big stage and Gagai is a proven QLD superstar.
