2019 Ashes discussion

Blokes like Harris, Khawaja, and Head will be shit in England but are pretty much locked into the side. We need a Copeland or Sayers type seamer as well IMO.

England Ashes training camp: Moeen Ali, Jimmy Anderson, Jonny Bairstow, Stuart Broad, Rory Burns, Jos Buttler, Sam Curran, Joe Denly, Lewis Gregory, Jack Leach, Joe Root, Jason Roy, Ben Stokes, Olly Stone, Chris Woakes, Mark Wood.

Harris is making a lot of runs over there butt I'd go with Burns because he would be only the 2nd right hander in the top 6.

Surely we have to pick Carey. Class player

Mind you if go with this 11

1. Warner
2. Harris
3.Burns
4. Smith
5. Kawaja
6.Head
7.Carey
8.Cummins
9.Starc
10.Lyon
11. Hazelwood

You could swap Smith and Kawaja.Either was it would sturdy up the middle order.

Nice line up.
If burns or Kawaja start to fail, I’d even consider replacing them with Finch after his display in the the World Cup.

I'd be going with:
1. Warner
2. Harris (won't be dropped after his SS final knock and his start over in England for Aus A. I don't think he will go well if the pitches are seaming, but he's got to be given a shot)
3. Labu (gotta be picked on form even though he's no certainty to stay in the side)
4. Smith
5. Head
6. Wade (again, gotta be picked on form)
7. Paine/ Carey (I'd pick Carey, but Paine won't be dropped)
8. Patto (freak. Possibly our best bowler, if not the best bowler in the world when fit, which he currently is, and has torn up in England. Gotta be picked no matter who it costs)
9. Cummins
10. Starc/ Hazle (probably Starc to start with)
11. Lyon

Haddin will win by a mile, that team is stacked

Yeaaaaah the Nese

He’ll never be picked, but **** it’d be great

I think he should be very much in the conversation. He has been near unplayable with the duke ball in the shield and now in England and has been consistently good with the bat too.

The fact both sides have scored next to nothing shows Australia should can’t play when the ball moves at all. Anderson and Curren will be so happy with what they would have seen or read last night.

The likes of Cummins and Starc will be happy with their bowling though. I wouldn't worry too much about the batting, Warner and Smith will have typically good series and the Pom's shaky batsmen will struggle with the pace and accuracy of our guys. I think the Aussies are specials in this one.
