I like the idea of Munster as captain, long term selection- could be captain for the next 10 years. In the halves so in the middle of it.

Bit immature but captaincy might be the making of him and that part of his personality.

Wally had only played four games for Qld and made captain in his second Origin game so 6th game- Which is about where Munster is at now. GI drops out Munster gets the gig, Beetson drops out Wally got the gig and he wasn't club captain either at Valleys.

I thought he'd be in the running. Maybe still needs to grow up a bit. I can see him captaining in the future though.

Just don't pick Broncos players for QLD. We're about to cop an absolute hiding if NSW are serious, our pack is pathetic compared to NSW's.

The funny thing is that we could have won game 2 last year if we went with DCE over Hunt straight away, and then we actually might have won the series.

I think the 2019 QLD side could be better than the 2018 one, if they don't **** it up (things like picking Gagai in the centres, or not picking Friend is he's available)

Prepare for another series loss, boys. QLD Rugby League is in for a rough year across the board. The backline and spine really don't concern me; there is still plenty of talent there to match NSW. The front row however, is utterly pathetic. It would have been a little better if the Broncs weren't struggling and Dave Fifita was really firing, but frankly so far he isn't, at least not enough to warrant selection. Instead we have to rely on minnows like J Wallace, McC, Kaufusi and Glasby who wouldn't have gotten close to a Maroons jersey only a few years ago.

We always knew the gulf that was awaiting us when the glory side all retired, and that time is upon us.

Yeah, the middle third is kind of...shit. McGuire, Papalii and Arrow are quality though, and are gonna need to stand up, along with Oates. I just hope we don't **** up some other positions to at least give us a chance though.

Even in the spine this year NSW are clearly better. 9. Cook, 7. Cleary/ Maloney, 6. Keary, 1. Teddy vs 9. ??? (Hunt, Macca, and Friend are all worse than Cook by a far distance. I’d go Friend but he is an injury magnet this year. If Walters picks Hunt at 9 I’ll laugh), 7. DCE, 6. Munster (was crap last year), 1. Ponga.

I think our spine can still be quality (if we don't pick McCullough). Munster was a bit disappointing last year, but he's just gotten better IMO, and I think him or Keary are the two best halves in the comp. DCE is better than their halfbacks, and is right up there with Munster and Keary as well... and Ponga just has insane potential.

We’ve had plenty worse teams and we’ve gotten up for the game. The jersey lifts them

I could see Matt Scott getting back in to the team this year, even if he starts and only plays 40 mins or so, I'd feel much better with him there instead of a Wallace or an underdone Napa for sure.

I feel like we also need to definitely think about Rhys Martin, that left edge spot is completely up for grabs. Gillett will be the right edge, and the other backrowers vying for the spot are right specialists in Kaufusi & Hess. I can't see Cooper getting picked again, but I say that every year and he always finds his way in to the team.

Martin has been named at lock for the Bulldogs, but he's playing left backrower with Jackson playing middle. He would add an unpredictability to our left edge with his offload ability, and I think he'd go well, completely solves our goal kicking issue as well.

1. Ponga
2. Oates
3. Chambers
4. Morgan
5. Gagai
6. Munster
7. Cherry-Evans (c)
8. Scott
9. Friend
10. McGuire
11. Martin (gk)
12. Gillett
13. Arrow

14. Hunt
15. Papalii
16. Napa/Wallace
17. Hess/Kaufusi

There's a legitimate argument to be made that the 6 best halves in the comp so far this season are all Queenslanders

Keary (Born in Ipswich, wanted to play for Queensland, I'm claiming him)
Munster
DCE
Morgan
Hunt
Norman

Throw in Milford, Taylor, Croft, Elgey & Lewis as some young depth.

Walker & Cleary are the only 2 NSWelshmen who could even enter the conversation.

So has Keary officially declared his allegiance to NSW?
