Our attack over the past two seasons has somewhat masked the fact that we have no clear player in charge of kicking duties. Hunt has attempted to step up in this department but really never has gotten it right.

Who would you say has the best overall kicking game in the squad?

The options:

- Benji Marshall
- Ben Hunt
- Anthony Milford
- Andrew McCullough
- Darius Boyd
- Kodi Nikorima

It's obviously something that needs improving to win games and premierships. We are basically banking next season on the fact that Hunt's kicking game will improve..

Ben Hunts kicking game isn't as bad as people make it out to be but it does make it hard for him when everyone in the competition knows he is the one doing the long kicks all the time. Macca sneaks a 40/20 in every now and again because it purely catches teams off guard because he doesn't kick from dummy half regularly. Criticize Hunt all you want but its time McCullough and especially Milford stood up and started helping with the kicking game.

What do you mean we have no clear player in charge of the kicking duties.

Hunt kicks 90% of the time for us. I'd say that is a clear indication that he is in charge of the kicking.

Our problem is execution and decision making.

We also need other players to step up, kick more and take some of the pressure of Hunt

Hunt is our halfback so is our default option to kick as is the halfback's usual role.

If you remember most of the year we were trying to figure out who does what in the kicking department.

Hunt ( Long )

Milford ( Short )

Boyd ( Short )

McCulllough ( Long )

It is not clear who our most effective and reliable kicker is.

We have decent kickers, we dont have a good one let alone a great one like Cronk or Thurston. Its a weakness for us.

Hunt seems to be the best general kicker, sometimes his kick selection lets him down. As others have said because we don't have much variation on last kick options, the opposition can put pressure on Hunt creating mistakes.

Hunt has one of the best long kicking games in the nrl, he also has one of the worst short kicking games in the nrl.

Macca is probably our best kicker. When he does it.. always great choices and he gets great results

Hunt has one of the best long kicking games in the nrl, he also has one of the worst short kicking games in the nrl.

Timing seems to be his issue with his short kicking game.
He gets himself too close the line and most of the time kicks into a defenders legs.
Needs to commit to the kick earlier and get himself into a better position.

Hunt is our primary kicker - he needs to step up and get it right. Kick on the fourth sometimes, get back deep enough so he doesn't get pressured into his shitty bombs.

Milford put up a few sweet bombs last year and a few decent in goal chips but he really needs to improve in this department. Take some pressure off Hunt.

McCullough can kick the 40/20's and some Cameron Smith type pressure release kicks to get us out of our half if we are being smashed. Kick to corners, but he shouldn't be doing any other kicking, except if (Same goes for Boyd) they smell something on the line and they aren't just making something up when it's not on.

McCullough always kicks on the 3rd or 4th tackle. It's easy to look like a good long kicker when the outside backs haven't dropped back yet.
That's why he's so good. Picks great moments. He kicks with his head (as ironic and hilarious as that statement sounds to say)
