Clubs can talk to Tommy Turbo in November. Can only hope we are one of those clubs. Don't start on about the salary cap, if the Roosters know how to fix it so should we.

Christian Welch might be a good option to lead the young forwards. He's only 24 but seems to have a good head and puts in effort

The chances of us getting Welch are pretty slim. He is highly rated at the Storm and they rarely let go of the players they rate.

Plus, I'm also a bit skeptical of signing anyone from Melbourne that isn't Cameron Smith or Jesse Bromwich. Players tend to go downhill when leaving Storm. Even Cronk hasn't played as good at the Roosters as what he did at the Storm.

You’re right, we definitely don’t need a player in his mould to help steer this young forward pack around and provide a calm head when the chips are down. A forward leader you might call them.

The last 2 weeks are testament to that. Our lack of experience in the 8-13 hasn’t been a problem at all.

We should just keep hoping to get out to a big lead early in games and have the ball bounce our way every time to gloss over the glaring weaknesses we have.

We definitely need that player you describe but Tim Mannah is not it. You can't carry shit players just because they have experience.

Yeah I mean I think we need an experienced forward but shit if we're identifying Mannah, why not just play Taga.

I used to rate Mannah pretty highly, but that was like 10 years ago. I thought he had some real potential. He's still better than Taga, but he'll probably want a decent paycheck.

No argument from me, but of what’s available right now, I do think he best fits the bill.

Matt Scott is the only other real option (again, of what’s available in that off-contract list), but due to his recent injury problems, he’s probably (and unfortunately for him) on borrowed time in first grade.

Like @Alec said, I also rated Mannah highly and I don’t think he ever truly got the recognition he deserved. I also believe a change of scenery could bring out the best in him, which I still think could be there. He essentially carried that Eels forward pack on his own for years and would come up here with a simple role to play. Might be just what he needs.

Of course, I could be way off the mark too, but I just think we are really missing a Kevin Campion or a Brad Thorn. Not the best forward on the field, but the bloke who always leads from the front and gets the job done when times are tough.

But of course, as I said in my original post, this is all contingent on him not wanting a lot of dough too.

Mannah is the prop version of Boyd at the moment. The bloke is shit house and needs to retire or go to England.

EDIT: I wouldn't want him taking minutes off of Haas, Lodge, Offa, or Flegler so where does he fit in?

Mate you are cooked if you think Tim Mannah is the answer. We already have two players of equal value in the rubbish heap Shaun Fensom and Sam Tagatese. If you think we need Mannah you obviously want to hit rock bottom.

We already have that in Tagataese.

Mannah is the type of player you sign when you're pretty desperate. We aren't there yet.

I was pretty impressed with Nixon Put in the Kumuls game. Haven't seen how he goes for Norths. Anyone know?
