If we have him then that takes a lot of pressure of Kev. We can use Arey as another draw to the club. Now we need a FB and a Hooker. I think Hooker is the lowest priority at the moment. For me we need a Top level fullback, Hynes I think could be it, has a big frame and good passing game but is not a speed man. Dufty is not a good defender but has a crisp pass and is a speedster.

Isaako could easily go back to Turncoates Wing. So our backline looks fairly impressive with Staggs/Herbie and Oates/Isaako. Could Gamble play centre, or would you put Isaako there and bring 'milford' into the squad.

If the club does let Milf go SJ could be an option but we couldn't go in with an offer more then 500-600k right. Gamble and Staggs otherwise could fight it out. Personally I think SJ and Milf are similar players but Milf may be less injured, so go for whoever will take the money offered. Maybe offload Croft also ab'nd see if SJ could come this year, the Sharks clearly don't want him.

If those are the only 2 options; SJ. 1000 times SJ.

Better all round player, better communicator, better defender. Far far less lazy.

So assuming the 10 day cooling off period is active from day of signature, DD and Kev met with Reynolds exactly 10 days ago so as of COB today if he signed then it would now be active. Given that noise everywhere and the fact that the Sharks are now apparently chasing Milf it does look positive, although I refuse to believe it yet I can’t get my hopes up.

Drew Hutchinson is worth a look in at 5/8. Could be a cheapie due to his recent injury and the halves depth at the Roosters means they'll probably offload him.

He is a good player. Not the halfback like SJ or Reynolds we need but a handy depth half to replace dearden and Milford.

A quick question about third party sponsors. I know the club can’t be involved or it’s counted on the cap but if for example businessmen in Brisbane thought that a marque player - for example Reynolds, would be a great brand ambassador for them, are the allowed to contact him prior to signing just to let him know?

What I mean is, is there anything preventing a big Brisbane car dealership who has seen the Reynolds and Broncos contract negotiations play out in the media, from calling Adam or his manager and saying “we’re big fans and would love you to be a part of our marketing if you do find yourself in Brisbane. If you do sign, let us know and we can discuss further. Our usual starting price is around $50k per year”

the sponsorship can't be used as an inducement to join a certain club.

so in your example, for that sponsorship to count outside the cap it must also be available to Reynolds should he decide to sign with the Sharks

Personally I'd like to see the effect AR has on Isaako. He had a lot of possitives, his quick, had a wicked step and a good pass.
I think AR could teach him to be a better support player, even ask him to change how he plays to suit AR more.

We also already have other options currently at the club. I’d like to land Reynolds and a centre + back rower plus some depth this off season. I think that puts us in good stead for next year. I still don’t understand why we are so keen to offload Lodge unless you get a Papalii or a top shelf 9 as a result.
