...did anyone see it in the back of today's paper?

Basically along the lines that many of the Old Boys feel as though the club's been pushing them away during the recent few years where the club's aura has disappeared and the culture has seemed to fade. They feel like they have a lot to give, and aren't happy. I did wonder if that sort of thing had been happening, the entire club seems to have gone backwards in recent years. But, management have contacted the old network and have set up some things for the end-of-season break to get more involvement again.

Now...I'm critical that the club did (allegedly) push away past players. I would think that those guys are a massive part of the club's culture, and definitely the history, so should be as involved as they want to be. However, it's heartening to see that it could be turning around, and I pray it continues so that the club can once again become the powerhouse it once was - sooo frustrating to be a bottom-8 team. If that makes me a fairweather fan so be it; the club was built on success and that's what I, as a supporter, demand is the goal. Things have clearly not been right the last few years but to their credit the club are starting to turn it around. Especially with the Logan and All Blacks partnerships...it seems things are headed in the right direction.

Now just a couple of gamebreakers and we're back near the top where we should be...*cough*Milf*coughcough*Barba*cough* :thumbup1:

Have heard this before, apparently Hook isn't comfortable with them around and wants to start a culture of his own.

Not at all, don't lower your expectations one iota. I cant stand those people who say "she'll be right! we can still win the premiership!" that have their blinders on and cheer mediocrity.

Yeah.. nah.

Nothing wrong with being frustrated but our position on the ladder has a lot to do with the salary cap and a lot of misfortune.

Yes, you can blame the administration and co. but it appears they've realised their errors and are doing their best to fix them.

This has been a frustrating season, but was always going to be from the out-set. I just hope the last two weeks are a sign of the future because finally it feels like we're playing to our strengths.

You missed the subtle dig in that piece from the unnamed ex player calling it Red and White hill not Red Hill.

The club had a 25 year dinner two weeks ago and every old boy was invited.

They had a reunion of the '92 team last year at Sydney Casino on GF weekend. Although they didn't go to the game!

They are having a '93 reunion this year.

They have an old boys lunch every year. That focus on a side.

They have Lockyer, Gee, Alf, Hancock and Burns on staff.

What more can you do to focus on ex players?

Should add Hook and the current side go to all those events bar the reunions.

Dressing rooms post games at home have plenty of ex players.

But 1910 how can posters continue to run their agendas against the coach and the club when you keep posting these facts???

They're probably gutted they're not being handed a playing strip on game day. Can't say I blame them when comparing them to this mob and this years results. :p

So long as we don't end up like Parra and their former players 'saving the club' by voting against each other each year.

Hey I wasn't saying there was any truth to any of it - I'm aware the old brigade are involved in the club and that's exactly the way it should be. Anyone who thinks I have an agenda against the coach or club can think again - my criticisms of this year are levelled at everyone from the players to upper management - with the players we have, I believe we should be in the top 8, and if we miss the finals IMO we have definitely underachieved this year, for whatever reason. Everyone involved with the club needs to take some responsibility for that.

If demanding we achieve to our potential each season is asking too much, well, so be it. I'm still a proud supporter and will be until the day I die. I still religiously get dressed up in my gear for every game, win lose or draw (lol)
