Interesting to note that the name (Glenn) being thrown up that seems agreeable to most Broncos fans is actually a guy who doesn't have a playing contract here for 2020 yet.
Sums up our club at the moment.

I just can't agree with this, or the Milford hate. He is the victim of shitty positional selections, being forced to play 3 positions because Dariu$$$ and Macca had to be accommodated, and Jake "I am not a half back and never will be" Turpin plays half back. Milford was forced to compensate for this dreadful debacle. I really feel for him.

His passing game can be superb and his running game will only feature when he has a decent half and 9 to support him, and a game plan that makes use of his skills.

People ought to go and look at some of Milf's highlight reels.

Milf ought to be 6 and for mine, the captaincy would only improve his game and his attitude.

You had me until you brought up the captaincy.

Paul White has done well for this organisation, i hope he stays in some capacity.
Has he? Has he really?

0 premierships. 3 massive finals blowouts. 1 Grand Final appearance in the only season we looked like genuine contenders in his tenure.

Business side separated, he has been an abject failure leading the club.

Well maybe he should stand down! He is ultimately responsible for overseeing all aspects of this operation/organisation and apart from being successful in a financial sense, we have achieved NOTHING for 13 years on the field. That is simply unacceptable for a 1 city team with our resources!
Everyone keeps saying this but I'm fucked if it makes much difference with the salary cap. Sure we have the best training facilities but it clearly doesn't make our players better.
With all our resources we couldn't even get the coach we wanted, which is what started us down this path . The club should have gone all out for Bellamy with an offer too good to refuse.

Gold coast Penthouse + 2M a year + jobs for the grandkids.

Whoever is coaching needs 100% control of the roster. No more feel good bullshit happy retirement stories. I don't believe Siebold has had full control yet.

Thaiday stayed on too long, Macca, Boyd. We're not a fairy tale factory. Do your job.

Darius won't retire. $800k a year for 2 years, he will never see that money a gain. In saying that, just because he won't retire doesn't mean we should play him. He isn't first grade material. No point compounding the issue by actually using him in the 17.

It's only 400k for this year, and 0 if he doesnt play 15 NRL games. I'd wear that to see him in the QCup.

I feel like if you're in a team that loses by 50+ your contract should be allowed to be terminated. I mean 50+ is an absolute thumping.

Appears to be a nothing reactionary sensationalism article... there is nothing from the club and they appear to be quoting a separate news article.

The quotes from Lockyer could be from when he was asked earlier in the year about captaincy... and even his quotes suggest the club have not really thought about who would be the next captain, suggesting there is nothing on the cards regarding stripping Boyd.

Even the suggestion of stripping Boyd of the captaincy doesn't really achieve anything, as he would presumably still be in the 17 or at least on the books. There's also the political backlash associated with stripping the captaincy whilst he is still playing.

None of this was on the cards until the flogging occurred on Sunday... and even though most people on here expected a flogging (highly potent attacking side at their home ground where they average high points, sold out crowd, dry track due to the time slot, 70% possession in the first half, etc.), but because it surpassed 50 apparently the club are thinking of burning themselves to the ground.

I'm hoping inside the club they are bunkering down with a siege mentality and don't make any rash decisions.

None of the decisions would be rash though... I mean, Lodge, TPJ, Haas and Fifita aren't going to be let go. I'd argue that it wouldn't be that bad to never see anyone else from the 17 again...

I'm going to be furious if Oates is renewed and Glenn isn't.

There is no way known that Boyd will be in the 17 next year. The club will negotiate a payout and he will be given a job. Mental health guy, reserve toilet warmer or some such, but he won't be in the squad.
I expect Darius will be gone by the end of next week possibly earlier.

I take your point. I guess I was meaning to say that we have the very best of everything, as you referred to, training facilities, rehab, specialists, etc. You are right though, if the talent, the passion, the determination in the players is not there, a fat lot of good having the very best of everything will do in the end.

As much as I detest Seibold right now, I'm not even certain Bellamy would have made that much more difference with this lot. You can't polish a turd into a diamond as they say.

Overdue for the pair of them. Both have performed well below par over the last few years.

Milford is a million dollar, experienced, clean skin, marketable half. Ideally there really shouldn’t be much discussion as to who gets it, but unfortunately there’s big question marks even over him.

Milford is dumb as dog shit when it comes to football. He’s a serial whinger and doesn’t put in at training. It’d be a disaster to pay him a million dollars and then also reward him with the captaincy after the crud he’s dished up this season.
