Some interesting players to watch this morning:
- Sam Konstas (u19 opener) for NSW
- Ollie Davies (could be next middle order bat if he keeps up his career start) for NSW
- Fergus O'Neill (I'm a massive fan) for Vic
- Campbell Kellaway (massive young talent) for Vic
- Will Pucovski for Vic
- Cameron Green for WA
- Aaron Hardie for WA
- Xavier Bartlett (has levelled up and already taken a wicket) for Qld
- Angus Lovell for Qld
- Kyle Brazell (I know nothing about him other than he is a young bat) for SA
- Jake Fraser-McGurk for SA
- Nathan McSweeney for SA
- Jordan Buckingham for SA

Unfortunately Vidier didn't get picked for Qld.

Konstas gone for 26 to Sutherland with a ripping bouncer.
SA is 3-50 - both McSweeney and Fraser-McGurk gone for ducks.
Tassie is 5-88 - no wickets to Green or Hardie.
NSW is 3-68 - One wicket to Davies.

Australian batting proving to be massively flawed yet again.

Why have batsmen?
Look at most of the batters these days, they are all equipped to play 20/20. Test batsmen are going to get harder and harder to produce as the years go by with the shorter format commanding such big money therefor the attention of the batters to tailor their games to suit that format.

So latest:

Tassie rolled for 183
WA 3/45 in reply - Green only 6
NSW 5/201 - J.Edwards actually doing something with the bat after who knows how many tries
SA rolled for 132
Qld 3/28 in reply - Renshaw continuing to offer nothing since making the Aus squad, Clayton a duck and Lovell continuing to underwhelm early with only 3

Hardie goes for 15. This is a dark day for Australian batting.

Have I missed something with Hardie? I dont see anything special in him at all.
Averages 43 with the bat and 27 with the ball in his first 30 FC games. That’s pretty bloody good for an All-rounder. Hasn’t had his best season at all but really who has. The options get thinner and thinner by the over.

The reality is, when you only have four guys in Shield cricket averaging over 40 not in the test team and three of them are Wade (ancient and not playing FC much this year), Pucovski (can't not get knocked out) and Davies (only like 3 games), the choices are very, very slim for next in line in an aging test line up.

Got 174 in the Shield final- that's it.

20/21-71 runs and 7 wickets
21/22 238 runs (174 of them in the final) and 10 wickets
22/23-378 runs and 17 wickets
23/24-288 runs and 11 wickets
