also, do you have figures to show how many of the 60 000 lived in sydney? cause id say a large percentage of that 60k were QLD supporters who flew down.

- The players should be happy to lose, because Origin isn't all about winning
- The fans are entitled to not show up because they have lost...therefore Origin is all about winning

I beg to differ, in the MLB, teams who are regularly posting losing seasons still post 30k averages.

In the premier league, teams who have woeful records still sell out every game.

It's just fickle fans like NSW who cannot stand losing. If you ever WIN another game, fans will tell you they've been supporting the whole time.

It DOES matter if it's a dead rubber. It DOES matter if NSW have lost 5 straight series. It has obviously made a small difference (obviously they were short of the extra 15,000 they would get). It happens. That's sport.

Crowd numbers will always decrease when teams are losing. In most sports really.

Only QLD Origin fans have ever shown to just rock up regardless of the score. It's very rare and good on them. But fact is, it's rare for that to happen in sport, and considering ANZ still managed 60,000+ on Wednesday night, that's a pretty good effort.

To say it's "disgraceful" is nothing short of pure ignorance and stupidity. GET REAL. Put things in perspective, see the world for once rather than looking straight down that little narrow maroon coloured tunnel of yours.

QLD lost the 2003 series.
QLD lost the 2004 series.
QLD lost the 2005 series.
QLD lost game 1 of the 2006 series.

so we're on the verge of losing 4 series in a row. .........we then get a sell out crowd for game 2. if we can pull a sell out, why cant you even get within 20k of a sellout?

i dont think its the maroon coloured tunnel that is too narrow - the blue coloured tunnel mustve been so narrow that it caused people to not be able to make it to the game [icon_wink

just face it - NSW 'fans' only go to support their team when theyre winning. QLD fans go to support their team, and origin, win lose or draw. ill say it again - 60k to an origin in a stadium that holds 85k is terrible. disgraceful. shocking. pitiful.
