Didn't choke,go missing, or embarrass himself in a big, close game on Wednesday. Got a field goal a week ago.

I say yes.

That’s because he’s in a team with elite players for qld. Hardly has to make any big decisions other than tackle and pass. It’s when he has to carry a team that gets him dizzy

Passed to ground too many times, but didn’t overly compromise the team, whilst offering some spark where it was needed. Typical rocks and diamonds, with enough diamonds to get the job done.
I thought it was very good considering he played 80 minutes at hooker (no small feat for a player not doing it at club level). He made a couple of loose passes but he all but kicked a 40/20, forced attackers to lose the ball in tackles and worked his guts out. I think it was very good and more than just passable.
It should be noted he kicked that 40/20 when we really needed it and often drifted across in attack to draw defenders without hammering the halves.

I think a lot of that had to do with the fact that his defensive workload was so much higher than he is used to.

he should be playing hooker, IMO that is his best position

What you’ve said is what I eluded to. But, those passes that hit the ground could have been the difference in another game. Hope he gets his head around that for game 2.
Ha ha, eluded. Nice one.

I would go as far as to say he was bad in the first half on Wednesday. Managed to redeem himself somewhat but wasn’t massively impressed.

I didn't think much of his Origin performance. He had more than a few passes go to ground which is typical of him and he was damn lucky he was surrounded by some of the comps best cause under any other circumstance, he would have paid for mistakes like those.

He was probably better than what McCullough would have shown, but he wasn't particularly good either. Some bad passing and some mixed defense.

I think BH might have buried a few demons and regained the winning mindset. I could easily believe he has turned the corner and the unwavering support from Walters has played a big part in that possible outcome. I, we can't be certain that's the case but I think he will take that back to St Merge. It might even kick start their faltering campaign.

He made mistakes but he was excellent in origin 1. He was playing out of position (regular position anyway) and he did some big things and got better as the game went on. His defense was really good in that second half.

I'd the first half was a 6/10. The second half was a 9/10.

He played very well in a position that requires less decision making and has less pressure in terms of organising the side etc. Although I have my doubts whether he could play hooker for a full NRL season, it's probably his best position which is sad given he's on a 1.2 million dollar contract as a half back and the Dragons have a superior hooker in McInness.

I'm certainly not missing him for the Broncos, but good on him for putting in an excellent Origin performance at long last.

Have to admit I said as much too. Service was slow af that first half.

Agreed.......attack wise I was disappointed with what he offered. He did pull off a few very good tackles and at crucial times....and that one kick. In general, I thought he was a passenger.

I think Jake Turpin would have done a better job.

Honestly, I don’t. Like the bulldogs, I generally avoid watching them unless I’ve got nothing else to do.
He’s the same old Hunt. Busts out some great bits of play but completely loses his mind as soon as there is any kind of pressure,
