Still can't understand why she'd call the courier mail instead of the police. Also not wanting to mention her name or press changes sounds like a load of shit

How do you know she called the Courier Mail?

So how'd they find out about it before anyone else?

Any number of ways?

Bouncer tells Courier Mail about what happened.
Girl tells a couple of close friends, who tell a couple of friends, who tell Courier Mail.
Person who saw it tells someone who knows someone at the Courier Mail.

Its more than likely the CM were chasing the story here, not the girl.

So like Chinese whispers. Just sounds a bit sus to me. But with his wrap sheet wouldn't surprise

I don't get why he would go to a night club at all. Aren't they just places you go to get laid? Isn't Roberts married with a baby? I'm really glad now that we have so much depth in the backs but it's a shame because Roberts can do freaky things on the field. He's just too stupid to be helped though so time to go I think.

Yes, exactly. A journalist's job is to chase leads on potential stories. As soon as you've heard that James Roberts was 'in an incident' at a club it wouldn't take many phone calls to find out who was involved.

Makes the club look like assholes to keep covering shit up for him/anyone, after the ridiculous off field crap last year that surely fucked our season.

Given the quality of GC lawyers I wouldn't be surprised if this was a crock of shit. Especially young female ones, assuming she isn't just a PA or a receptionist.

I'll wait and see if anyone outside her circle back her up.

I'll hold my judgement on this until some facts are confirmed ...

But if he was guilty, then he should be sacked.

hell, if he was there and drinking he should be sacked

We can't release him and let a scum club with no moral compass like the Roosters, Dogs, or Eels swoop in and benefit. I would only let him go if we had another signing ready to go with his funds, and I mean for this season. If we don't then he can rot in Qcup for all I care, I just don't want to see another Barba situation.

This is assuming he's guilty.

One phone call from a corporate partner or sponsor this morning would be enough to stamp his papers you would think.

As I've got older I've cared less about ability and nearly developed Alzheimer's waiting for turds like him to reach their 'potential' and due to their shit attitude never do.

I'd rather stand Soupie at right centre, atleast he's a guy with strong family values and morals (good luck for Thursday BTW mate).

Well done to Benji, got up here, worked hard, and waited for the inevitable banana peel.

Strange that he says he has no knowledge of the incident.
Always entitled to the presumption of innocence regardless of prior behavior.
If you want to stay home once you have children that's fine, but you cant paint people who still have a social life as deviants.

I met David Stagg for the first time at the Dunda at 2am Friday morning a couple of years ago (me and mates were following on from a day getting pissed at the cricket). It was the first pre-season after he retired, but hes married with a couple of kids. And he's 30+ at the time
