Apologies for the foul language below.

James Roberts can eat a fat dick. You are either a Bronco through and through or you are not. He never was a Bronco. The items below are reasons we are better without him.

1. He is an terrible defender and that is not the Seibold way.
2. He is a lazy trainer and that only works from right centre if you were the god like man called Justin Hodges who HATED LOSING with a passion.
3. He doesn't have a leadership bone in his body.
4.He is not durable.
5. Yes I know...bad upbringing but that doesn't justify poor work ethic and behaviour.
6. He is not Justin Hodges
7.He never went looking for the ball like Hodges
8. He will never be Justin Hodges

That actually isn't true. There was a VERY recent article on NRL.com about player speeds and Oates rated a mention in the backs, while Haas and TPJ are the two fastest middle forwards in the game pretty much.

It has never been that Bird isn't a good player or that he puts effort in, no one has questioned that. The problem is how much money he is on.
Yeah sorry I forgot that time Payne Haas and TPJ easily chased down Roberts...

Highest clocked speed is also not really that helpful. Oates is quick over 100 but surely wonky feature in the top 20 for 20m or 40m which is really what a team needs.

We are now not paying for the following players next year and beyond (Excluding any compensation to Cowboys which may exist):

McGuire
Kahu
Nikorima
Roberts

Beyond the obvious re-signing TPJ, Oates... Who is off contract that we could target and who do people feel we should target with these excess funds?

We will be chipping in for Moose until his contract at the Broncos would have ended. Not sure when that was though.

I was concerned about speed and depth in our backline now. Any in our top 30 look like ready candidates? Given the increased funds after releasing a few players, we could upgrade players that need re-signing, extend others and perhaps look at the market or scout ISC.

Both scott drinkwater and ryan papenhuyzen are of contract at 2020 and may be looking for first grade position.

Could move boyd to centre and them into fullback (having been apprentices under slater would put them in good stead). Could make enquiries.

As much criticism as boyd gets, he can read the game well and did well at centre last year.

I don't think TPJ is necessarily an obvious re-signing, depending on what other clubs offer him and how he plays for the rest of the season. Our forward ranks are looking pretty good even without him - Haas, Lodge, Offa, Gillette, Glenn, Fifita, Flegler and Carrigan - so maybe the money could be better spent strengthening our backline/spine.

End of 21 apparently, depends if there were player options involved
