That is the club’s version. I’m not the biggest fan of Lodge as a person (though he has come a long way from the ‘dark days’ seemingly) , but in no world is the player 100% at fault and therefore the club decides to pay him $700k on the cap as a golden handshake… If the player was 100% at fault they’d have sacked him and not paid him a cent.

“Something” happened at the Warriors, there are rumours of an incident between the Warriors CEO and Lodge, where Lodge was not the instigator.

However, the only facts known for certain are that the Warriors for some reason paid out his contract in full and allowed him to leave immediately, in the same week there other starting front-rower - AFB suffered a significant injury…
