Personally I feel we will slip into 7th, with the 8th spot coming down to the last game of the year with the Panthers vs Knights game, winner moving on.

I think we really need to beat Souffs or Storm, because I have a big feeling we'll still drop at least one game that we should be expected to win.

The Broncs won't beat the Storm, particularly in Brisbane but I suspect they will beat the Rabbits. There is just something not feeling right about Souths, not sure what it is.

If we manage to knock-off the storm, I would begin to become hopeful of having a possibility of winning the comp.

A similar thing happened last year and it coincided with a drop in form from Cook during and post origin.

He plays long minutes during origin and similar to last year he was only given 1 game rest from memory... when Brittain was on the bench (so not even a game).

Potentially he just gets fatigued during the year... he plays 80mins every week, makes 40+ tackles a game which is no slouch for a guy on the smaller side and his game and form is directly linked to his running game, so if he's not running the bunnies lose impact through the middle.

It will be interesting to see how he goes at the back end and whether his recovery is improved given it is his second year of origin.

Given the changes we have had and the amount of youth we blooded if we can make the 8 with what we have, we have serious promise going forward, I was writing this season off less then a month ago now we are looking like we might do some damage, I really do want us to beat Storm though it will show we are fully into a new era.

I have felt all along that the 2 games we pretty much threw away against the Dragons and Tigers at home in the first month of the season would be very costly. The good thing though is fate is in our own hands and if we are good enough and fire at the right end of the season we will get in.

Despite everything that has occurred this season, one thing that hasn’t helped our cause is our fucking ridiculous draw.

We by far had the hardest opening 3 months of the season where we played the Storm in Melbourne, Roosters twice, Souths and Raiders away who are all the current top 4 and will be the top 4 at season end.

Then during Origin we faced a lot of teams with either zero or one Origin representatives
(Titans, Eels, Cronulla, Warriors)
And even though we ended up beating Cronulla, we had 5 Origin players out to their 1 which we were always going to be bloody hard to get the 2 points which we somehow miraculously pulled off.

Then when we finally seem to get to the easier run, we seem to play teams when they are in form. Knights were during their purple patch when we played them down there, Bulldogs were on a 2 game winning streak, we have Panthers coming up in the next couple of weeks who just came off a 7 game winning run. Eels are on a decent run again. Storm are coming off a loss coincidentally the week before we play them. Cowboys have looked marginally better now that they have Drinkwater at the back and now Morgan is back just in time to play us next week.

If we make the 8 despite everything that has happened at the club if you include our draw

PLUS the injury crisis during various crucial stages of our season (Bird, Gillett, all our Halves, Glenn, Macca, Ofahengaue, etc)

PLUS players leaving mid season (Roberts, Sua and Nikorima)

PLUS players leaving pre season (McGuire and Kahu)

PLUS our disciplinary record (TPJ x 2, Lodge, Haas, Flegler and Segeyaro all been suspended either by club or MRC)

It will be our best and most satisfying season we’ve had since 2015 IMO.

It’s already guaranteed to be our worst statistical season since 2014. You can try and make excuses and spin it any way you like but to say it’s our best season since 2015 would be flat out wrong

I’m sorry, I forgot that this season we aren’t coached by Bennett so I forgot that automatically means it’s been a write off no matter what.

Mate cheer up, it’s been a horrible year for a number of reasons, to make the finals at all considering the circumstances is a decent fucking achievement. Only those like yourselves with a chip on your shoulder or an agenda would think otherwise.

Just because statistically we had a better Head to Head record last season heading into the finals doesn’t make it any greater an achievement then if we were to make it this season. We also had a shit load more stability last season and also had a more established squad.

If we make the 8 and get knocked out week 1 then we have matched our 2018 season in terms of our season finish and that is with more obstacles then what we as a club were faced with last season. So pull your head out of your ass.

I didn't mention anything to do with Bennett. My post wasn't agenda based. It's factual.

Listing a bunch of excuses like we've never had a tough draw or suspensions before to try and mask an overall poor season is what someone with their head up their ass would actually do.

Factually incorrect. If we make the finals and win a game then statistically speaking we were better than last year.

If... what a shame we're reduced to saying that word.

Sure if we win all regular season games this year and win a finals game then you're right.

Also it doesn't matter if we win every single round game or not, as long as we make the finals and win one it would still be a better season than last, statistically speaking.

Correct. All that really matters is where you finish at the end of the season. Bennettgoat is too far invested into his negative outlook to see it in any other light. I'm not even sure if he would be happy if we won the Grand Final.
