oh FFS and FMD. I guess he will have to give up playing any sort of footy that has gambling companies involved. I hear the Maroochydore Swans U12's don't have a betting sponsor.....
I don’t believe this one for a moment.

I'd love to see the team win and win well. I hope they're mature enough to not let work drama affect their performance. There's been plenty of players who wanted out and they still played great every week.

All I want is for it to not derail our performances.

That's exactly what we all want, I know it all came to a head last night with the request of a release but prior to that, if we were just looking at his output and effort for us would we even think that he was genuinely unhappy?

I wouldn't have thought so.

I also believe that if Kevvie detected any drop in effort he would be playing QLD Cup, much the same as Milford was playing QLD Cup.

While I’m sure Payne would love to leave the club for reasons other than just money, I actually think this was a bluff to an extent.

He got knocked back for his ridiculous pay rise request and I believe he and his team have done this purely with the hopes of scaring the club into folding to his request.

I wonder who it was that was shrewd enough to call their bluff.......it certainly looks like the right play.

At this stage it appears as though its well and truly blown up in their faces (the Haas camp)

Its not too much of a stretch to think that all the other clubs would look at this and go ..."**** Payne....thats a pretty good deal the Broncs have offered you and you're still gonna walk out halfway through the season?....You're a ****"

I have been reading other forums and that's exactly what other fans are saying, it's not like it's "reported" he's on that much, it was stated in court that is what he is on.

There's only one person coming out of this looking like a dickhead and for once, it's not anyone making the decisions at the club.

Let's see who that rules out and not just gambling related.

NSW: The Star (Guess he won't be playing Origin after all)

Storm: No gambling related jersey sponsor but RedZed is payday loans (Usury)
Panthers: No gambling but home loans (Usury)
Cowboys: Bundaberg rum (Alchohol)
Sharks: Pointsbet (Gambling)
Eels: Lending Association (Usury)
Roosters: Unibet (Gambling)
Rabbitohs: Crown Resorts (Gambling)
Raiders: All good!
Manly: Pointsbet (Gambling)
St George: St George (Usury)
Warriors: DTR (Usury)
Titans: MyPayNow (Usury)
West Tigers: All good!
Knights: Palmerbet (Gambling)
Bulldogs: Laundy Hotels (Alchohol/Gambling)

Looks like it's between the Raiders and Wests then. And he won't be playing Origin this year either.

If anything he's genuinely got better, he's worked on his play the ball, finding his front, he's ball playing a bit.

It doesn't match his on field form. The game in 3 hours will be telling, I have no doubt the cameras will try to get him post game.

But really there's not much he can say, he's lost all good will, he can only be redeemed by sacking his shit management and I can't see that happening.

it's disappointing as it will be to lose someone of his calibre I genuinely can't see a way forward. It would be remarkably good man management from Kevvie if he stays on board and it doesn't affect our form.

Straight up don't believe for a second the media are not making it up about the gambling and alco ads, because there isn't a sport on earth you can escape from that.

I could get behind this.

However, he seems to be taking a gamble with his contract negotiations and misses the whole point of why things are considered Haram.
Maisir (gambling) is prohibited by Islamic law on the grounds that "the agreement between participants is based on immoral inducement provided by entirely wishful hopes in the participants' minds that they will gain by mere chance, with no consideration for the possibility of loss".

Sounds like how Payne's contract negotiations are playing out.

That's the problem - Nasser isn't a registered agent (not sure if he has been de-registered or never was). The players are technically signed with a proxy or figurehead that works for Nasser. There's nothing to stop him owning / profiting through a company that employs registered agents.
He can probably also head out and have unofficial chats with teams about anything... like how much they might pay a player if they happened to be available

here was one of the responses, lol

Most teams have some sort of sponsorship going with a gambling company don't they?

Few stadiums are named after gambling agencies, then you've got the shirt logos..
