It’s the first game any of those players would have played since last season/origin, was also very greasy conditions and humid as **** being in Townsville. Early season games are always shit
I wasn’t criticising the players.

Sorry, if my team isn’t competing for the premiership it is a write off in my eyes. Yeah there may be lessons learned but I couldn’t care less, I want to see my team win the premiership.
Yep, this used to be the standard.

Absolutely. Not finishing with the spoon, which so many predict and want to happen out there, will make it a good year.
Just work each other in defence, dear lord. Set a foundation for 2022. That's the goal.

It's gonna be a shitshow.

Including the most blown penalty in the game (inside 10m) as a set restart effectively makes it eyes-up touch football, fittest team wins.
It was bad enough last year, was hoping they would be more selective with it this season. The worst part is there’s no accountability for it, it’s just play on, no one knows why it was a set restart & there’s no time to go back to find out. It’s just a mechanism for refs to artificially speed the game up.

The NRL has said it will not allow any club to sign Smith for less than $500k, nor pay him any money outside the salary cap as part of a post-football transition into club employment for 2022 and beyond.

The Broncos and Titans can't claim salary-cap exemptions for a ‘career-transition payment’ for a post-football job. Had Smith remained at The Storm this year, they would have received salary-cap dispensation for a portion of his $1 million wage for any "ambassadorial work" due to his long-service status.

Sounds like a convenient amount that the Titans supposedly somehow have doesn’t it.

I’m kinda hoping we Finnish higher than second last which although would mean we didn’t get the spoon would still be a fail in my eyes.

For sure. Making the finals would be amazing. Hoping for a 8-12 finish but not getting the spoon again is essential.

Saying finals at minimum gives an Avenue to say oh we didn’t make it, maybe next year.

Finals are mandatory at the Broncos

But... it doesn't? Finals as a minimum means the same thing as finals are mandatory. Either way, you miss them you've failed at attaining your goal.
