Because the Broncos weren’t undermanned at all….

We were stuffed - also thought Payne's second stint he made damaging runs and no-one was there to support him. The one where he went Staggs side, he was looking for someone and nobody came through for him. Very disappointed in that. Big fella trying his guts out and left to just hit it up.

That first half was a tough watch. Starved of ball we just didn't have any answers. Our defense held only because it's fucking parra... No Moses/Gutho - else they score 2-3 times in that period. Seriously concerning ability to handle a big pack.

Walsh was more patient tonight but you can see his natural instinct is to score a try every play. His passing game is a long way off, can’t remember the last time he put away our centre or winger. He should be looking for offloads in the middle more.
I’d like to see him go for the grubber more often. I think defences mark up fairly well for his pass but his speed is just too much of a threat to fully commit. If he were to grubber early in the game to plant the seed of doubt I could see him having a field day

Strange old game. Never felt like we got into a rhythm at all. In saying that, we kinda kept them scoreless in the second half. Their only points coming from a derp play on the first kick return.

Um he literally put mariner away with a pearler of a pass tonight 🫠

Thought Rogers was solid and didn't look out of place, just kept it simple and let mam and Walsh do their thing. Entire backline played well and rolled their sleeves up.

Carrigan looks tired.

Its been inevitable really with Carrigan. Patty has carried the pack for the first 9 rounds playing over 70 mins a game mostly ( sometimes all 80 ) without a break. Something had to give. As i said before, its astounding really he played so long again tonight.

Teams have worked him out when he tries the full sprint toward the side. It’s ended with his bad pass every time this season. He hasn’t really developed a show and go either. Hope he gets more mentoring from slater soon.

Yeah he did actually. But it was more a catch and pass. It’s when he runs and passes that’s become an issue

100%, his speed is deadly but he needs to add some strings to his bow

The good:
A wins a win can't be unhappy with that, was a bit scrappy and a bit all over the place especially in the first half.
Gotta say though when the offense clicks it really clicks and we can blow teams off the park (still a good effort to score 30 in the bucketing wet).

Carrigan; Haas and Willison in the pack all had good games, Patty deserves a rest soon, he lifted while Haas was out.

Walsh had fewer mistakes but still looked dangerous.
Mam had a good game too, his kick chase pressure is top tier.

Little worrying:
One thing concerning was what appeared like a lack of intensity and energy in the first half. Gotta be more switched on from the start against better teams.

Still a bit of work to do with putting in pressure and getting repeat sets, sometimes it feels like we let teams get too many easy meters out of their own half.

He needs to mix it up. Use the after burners to draw a defender and try a hard step back in field etc. Make them two man him. That's when a hole will open up and if he can deliver good ball, it's on. Sadly - his ability to execute hasn't caught up with his feet yet.
