We just lack physicality. Payne should be a monster in that regard with his size and athleticism but he hits like a pillow. Flegler goes into his shell once he gives away a penalty. I remember listing to an English forward, might have been Peacock saying when you got hit by blokes like Petero or Webcke you felt it. We really need to recruit some hard hitters.
I agree on Payne, but disagree with others, Riki Kobe and Carrigan are folding *****, Flegs let off after the warning.

Paynes problem and it's his problem in origin is he doesn't lift his level for the bigger games, what lets him dominate the normal game, gets him folded when it goes hard.

I think it's smart to take him off early though, he comes on later and that level will work.

Momentum wouldn't have taken him into the goal... he promotes the footy just onto the try line before being pushed into touch
I’m at the game and didn’t see it closely. My opinion on double movements in general is if the ball is promoted it should be no try, it doesn’t matter if the attacker is stopped 1mm short and would have been guaranteed to score: if he promotes the ball it should be no try

He lifted his arm off the ground short of the line and promoted the ball. The fact that momentum would’ve taken him into the in goal shouldn’t factor into the decision.
Yes it should, otherwise you could never reach forward and plant the ball down because you would be “promoting it”.

Promoting it is only an issue if momentum has stopped and his hadn’t.

Here's another subjective opinion about the double movement rule in general, with the arm and the ball in contact with the ground then friction is increased. That slows the player down, does it give the defender move time to get their arm under the ball or even provide just that much friction they stop short of the line if they didn't promote the ball?

It's a dumb interpretation of the rule and they should go back to the black and white interpretation.

The NRL don't like black and white rules... as it takes away from their ability to manipulate results

The Turuva try is fine, his body ends up over the try line so he's allowed to promote the ball.

Brisbane just holding on here. Outside of the opening 10 minutes they've been well and truly outplayed but they just keep turning up and Penrith are struggling to find that last pass. Need a big second half here, if things persist the floodgates will open.

Clear double movement. He promotes himself with his left arm .as well as lifts his right. Momentum doesn't take his body into the in-goal.
The top half of his body was in goal unfortunately for us…

Riki usually does but i'm not seeing much so far. Kobe has been fine. Like i keep saying, we need more physicality across the board.

If momentum would’ve taken him in regardless he should leave his arm on the ground and let his body slide into the in goal.

Why do we keep dropping the ball when we’re cleaning up their mess. so frustrating.

Penrith's backs just do so much work. This is not a good start.
