Would it be fair to say that possibly Bennett got the 2015 credit that perhaps should have gone to Griffin? Hook was building something here and then got punted before it came to fruition. Look at what he has built at Penrith, the guy was a lot better than given credit for.

Wash your mouth out!

The guy who played Hoffman at 5/8?

Weird situation - Broncos don't make the GF without Bennett, and Penrith aren't where they are now without Jabba. Hook fits in there somewhere.

You are kidding right? I get that some people don’t like Bennett and that is fine but this is laughable. Gould is running the show and making the decisions at Penrith, not Griffin. The only thing Griffin deserves credit for is being spineless enough to be someone else’s puppet.

We got to the grand final in 2015 on the back of some key additions based on Bennett’s arrival. Guys like Boyd and Blair and the changes in our playing style.

Talk about looking at Griffin’s time here through rose coloured glasses.

I'd say some of the credit would have to go to both Wayne and Hook

Hook put that team together, and the only reason he played Hoffman at five-eighth was because his Plan A (Milford) and Plan B (Kahu) both failed before Round 1.

But correct, we don't make the GF without Blair & Boyd. Or Bennett.

I daresay hook would be very much on the nose for many Penrith supporters.

- He has let a number of highly credentialed juniors leave (Moylan, Cartwright, Latu)
- His team selections would frustrate many I'd imagine (Peachy playing off the bench, to playing 5/8, to playing 2nd row to playing centre (he's also been unable to get Peachy to pass the fcking ball to his winger or anyone for that matter), Merrin starting prop playing 40mins whereas in previous years he was their best forward playing 80mins at lock, Kikau dropped to the bench,) basically just an inability to maintain consistency with the team.
- His use of the bench remains very suspect (Sione Katoa was playing 5-10mins a game as backup to PWall and he often has a forward on the bench playing 5-10mins a game, which distorts the playing time of the forwards)
- The team totally shitting the bed last year and not backing up the performances of 2016

I'm sure they are furious about being second on the table. Moylan is shit and Cartwright is finding it hard to keep his spot for the GC, so it's not such a bad loss. He can't do much about Merrin being a fat tit. Kikau is on the bench for similar reasons TPJ is for us

Why would they be angry at Hook though? Everyone knows he's only a puppet for Gould.

They're happy at the moment... but I know life long members who wanted nothing more than to see the back of him... and are still frustrated by his coaching decisions.

There is a reason why many had Hook heading the list of first coach to be sacked.

At the time the Moylan loss was huge and pissed off many supporters. Not sure where the Moylan is shit is coming from. As 5/8 he's going shit but I'd suggest he's a seriously good fullback.

Yet he is a coach who has been willing to get rid of guys that needed to go despite what fans thought and has not been afraid to give young guys a go and drop veterans who haven’t performed, sounds like a good coach to me.

Whether he was or not at the Broncos, one thing for certain is that he is a good coach now. That probably means I will get denounced as a Penrith supporter but that's ok.
