That's the issue. They shouldn't go missing. You've got teams like the Panthers, who had six players out, including their two playmakers, still play cohesive and error free football. That's with fucking Cogger and Salmon in the halves.

You can say well they're the two time premiers but when you lose 6 of your starting 13 you could be forgiven for playing shit. Hell, we played better against the Warriors then we have the past 3 weeks.

you're comparing the back-to-back premiers with a team that has missed the finals the last 3 years.

do you think the Panthers got where they are overnight?

the answer is absolutely not. it took them time to build. we're in the process of it now, we're not the finished product like the Panthers are.

Payne should just rule himself out and put the Broncos first if he has any brains. The blue scum have lost the series and he wants to win a Premiership. Why risk a decent chance of doing that for a game where the series is gone.

Because he is passionate about his state?

We’re apparently imploding despite having the most wins in the comp, 2 byes up our sleeve, and losing two tight games to cooked refereeing calls (raiders and tits).

But comparing us to the Panthers is ridiculous really. In reality we are 5 years behind them. People have short memories in this sport. When you look at our attack this is the first year since 2018 we have put 40 points on a team. It's also the first year that we average single below 20 points against in years. Barring souths our biggest loss is by 9 points. Last year our biggest loss was 47 points.

3 years ago we picked up the wooden spoon. Even with our clunky attack we have improved to a ridiculous extent to where we were 3 years ago.

Our fans should take a look at the tigers, knights and dragons forums to humble themselves.

A win is a win. It was clunky as it should be with so many starting forwards out and not much depth there plus losing the best fullback in the game and his replacement being quiet off little recent game time.

It’ll be clunky for another month yet but even so, we are probably now only one win from top 8 locked in if not already there and probably 3 wins from locked in top 4, all while not playing well.

Shout out to Piaks again because it was mentioned he was quiet, he was actually a big reason for Herbie’s tries. We haven’t had his line running ability for a very long time at the Broncs.
Now on 30 points (with the bye), so I think we can officially call at least a top 8 finish?!?

you can add the Storm game to that list
Forgot about that one. The raiders and tits were at the forefront of my mind because we lost off the back of individual calls as opposed to a stream of shit house reffing like we experienced in Melbourne

Because he is passionate about his state?

Not possible. He's a blue. They dont get Origin.

I'll be pretty dirty if he put his hand up for this game and he isnt close to being fully fit. As i said, they cant win the series so put your club first on this occasion. If the series was 1-1 i could understand it. Hamstring injuries can be very difficult to get over if you push it with them.

People do have short memories. Cleary only got back to the club in '19. The Panthers missed the eight that year but made the '20 GF and then won the next two. Tell me how we're five years behind them?

Surely even Freddy wont be stupid enough to go with another player under an injury cloud for game 3.
You've seen Freddy over the last 6 years or so yeah... and then his absolute reliance on Haas to carry the NSW forward pack.

Haas will be picked to play on one leg... and then Freddy will double down and make him play 70mins on it

for a start the year before Cleary got to the club the Panthers finished 5th.

the year before Kevvie got to the club we won the wooden spoon with a defence so bad it resembled the 1999 Western Suburbs Magpies defence.

Didn't take them long. Cleary gets there in 2019 and a year later they make the 2020 GF.

Would you have said he had a star studded team in 2019?

you don't need a star studded team to make the GF. (especially in the salary cap era).

but one thing i can guarantee you, if Cleary had taken over a team with defence as bad as ours was in 2020, he doesn't make the GF one year later, in fact he's unlikely to have made the finals for several years.

Clearly had been an NRL coach for about 11 years prior to arriving at the Panthers for a winning record of less than 50%. the Panthers team have made him look good, luckily he was able to step into that system, he didn't have to build it himself.
