Piakura had his best game to date, got a bit loose when he started getting gassed, but his footwork was really on show.

Capewell had his best game this year too.

Haas & Patty were their brilliant best & really lead us.

Ezra was pretty good, more his clean up work in defence than his ball playing.

Madden was about what I expected, did a job but didn’t offer too much in way of last tackle options.

Cobbo was a bit too lax again in defence and is easily beat on the outside.

Staggs is turning into a real leader at the club this year.

Ref was a knob, seemed to close his eyes whenever we had the ball.

Played better than I expected given Reyno was out & up there again the cows who usually turn it on against us. Probably left 3 try’s out there though.

We were wooden spooners with salary cap issues, that's never a quick fix.

It's actually astonishing that we looked a top four side for a large chunk of last season, even more astonishing is some weren't happy with that. Oh well, it will go down as one of the great threads, for the wrong reasons.
The end of last season was not pretty. Whatever happened between then and now clearly worked. Regardless of what that might have been, the buck stopped at Kevvie, just as he gets the credit for this season. It cuts both ways.

We might miss that brief glimpse of a passing Herbie we saw for a couple of minutes tonight. Why the **** doesn't he play like that all the time? Unfortunately, he reverted hogging Herbie a few minutes later. He certainly has the talent. Wasted on the Dolphins.
We'll miss some of the more unnoticed parts of Herbie's game for mine. He makes solid metres most weeks in those early tackles on yardage sets.

His short kicking game needs a lot of work. He really is not confident in it and so went for other plays too often. His pass selection on the early try 1st or 2nd was very good, though
Pretty much a rerun - warts and all - of his last QCup game. I posted the highlights earlier. Here it is again, in case you missed it:

Very true, but I think Capewell is even better at that, plus he works himself into better attacking positions.

Yeah, wouldn't disagree and that's not to say that Herbie's replacement can't do the exact same but also have a passing game.

I think we'll be ok without them, whereas I'm not as certain they'll have the impact at the Phins they are hoping for.

Not sure how many times the commentators said "it looks like the Cowboys are coming back" or "you get a sense that the Broncos are shot and the Cowboys are finishing the stronger". Rinse and repeat with words to that effect and you get the picture of how bad the faux team were death riding the Broncos. Made the win that wee bit sweeter. Then the after game coverage when the tries and the big plays are discussed were binned totally as they crossed directly to Perth.

It was midway through the second half when it dawned on me that we'll enjoy the bye and then really give to the storm in the last round to serve notice to the rest of the also rans.

Ezra's defence has to be close to the best 6 in the comp at the present moment.

Fox do that every single game we play ... even when we lead by 20 with 10 to go

I'm over Flegs now. This should've been his year. I can't help feel we never got the best from Herbie. Maybe no one ever will.

From 29 NSW Cup games, 9 Cup games and 19 NRL games you can find one game you were happy with and high school?

Sort of validates the concern.[quote/]
Yeah like I said , I think he goes alright .

Absolutely they are, the point being made which you chose to ignore is it’s a bit rich to be quoting your own posts for a pat on the back while not eating some humble pie over your campaign to sack Kevvie.
Go back and read the sack Kev thread. I have and I have no qualms with my comments in there. Good on Kev for improving in the areas I was rightfully criticising at the time. If anyone wants to really crucify me, go find some old comments I made about Riki.

He has twinkle toes .
Not many can get between defenders and come out the other side like he does .
Yeah his late footwork is beautiful. Was a little worried for a moment that he was struggling to do it against men but he’s found his confidence

They were shit comments mate. Eat your humble pie for not giving kevy a chance to develop into his role!
