Voluntary tackles used to be a penalty to the opposition. There's gotta be some punishment for taking one. Tapine provided that.

Walsh laughed it off, move on.
It wasn't a voluntary tackle though. It was a player who had been holding his knee moments before grimacing, holding it again and stopping. It was a dog shot and not within the spirit of the game. Hodges copped it for years because of that tackle to Morris on the ground, everything he did after that was grubby apparently. This one is just as bad. Walsh laughed it off because he's tough but that doesn't make it ok.

Staggs dropped a forearm into Rapana on the ground after he had passed the ball .
I think it hit Rapana on the chest . Comentators saying head . MRC verdict coming up .
Could be the old no white thingy rule ?

So JWH's is probably a bit worse then ... as he definitely took the head off the Tigers kicker after he kicked the ball

J Dubya will have 2 charges .
Late , high hit on a play maker and lead with the head . He had a little spot of blood on his forehead after his little melon rubbing session . Hard to deny how it got there .

Just heard an interesting point. If Reece Walsh stays at the Warriors with the improvement they have had, are they minor premiers and favourites to take out the Grand final?
Maybe but I still am not a believer in the Warriors story.

They have been beaten by 6 of the other 7 sides in the 8

played twice against
Cows rnd 3 and 7 when they were putrid
Dogs rnd 4 and 11
Raiders
Saints
Knights rnd 1 and 6 when they were playing Ponga at 6 ( 1 win)
Dolphins
Sharks
Roosters

as we all know it's not just who you play, but when, that slants the draw.
They have struggled to put away Saints, Tigers, Raiders, Manly Titans and got touched up by a putrid Rabbitohs side at home.

I like watching the Warriors but they have had a kind draw to say the least and to me those results are a bit unconvincing.
If we happen to fall I will be cheering them on though.

This. And I guarantee if Walsh ribs were broken by the tackle everyones opinion would be different on it

Staggs should only cop a fine i reckon.

Looks to me like he stumbles in the tackle and falls onto Rapana with his arm bracing himself.
No malice, not intentional. Just a fine.

Rapana doesnt even take notice of it, gets straight back up and involved in the next play.

Some blame has to go to Manu faking an injury and scoring a try off it. Why trust that an opposition player is injured?

It looked worse than what it was, though I'd be blowing up if it happened to one of our players. 1 week for sure, but nothing more IMO.

Young(?) should also get a week for the eye gouge/attacking the head of Kotoni immediately after, that was just as ugly.

I think he's in trouble. He swung his forearm at him out of frustration for making a few errors imo. It was a very NAS or JWH thing to do.

Moments later Madden would throw up his hands at Smoothy for not getting the ball. Walsh called an audible and noone knew it was on. Furthermore, I'm pretty sure Walsh was back there retrieving care from the trainer on the play before. If that was all planned, then he is an absolute genius. Fake an injury to get into position for a FG.

It was a great play, but only Walsh knew it was on, I'm pretty sure it was pure instinct.

I'm sure it was planned. I was looking at the time on the clock and the positioning the worked to on the field, and I called it in my head as soon as the preceding tackle was made. It was, as you said, genius, and I'd say it was the trainer that instructed it.

11 points down and after the hooter? it's intented to do 1 thing, injur.
The guy had the shits and decided to come from 20 mtrs away and from the side to cause maximum damage when he saw Walsh stop.
They go on about players don't go out their with intent to injur, well **** me, exhibit 1 your honour, huge risk of rib cartiledge injury or whip lash imjury.
The tackle on Garrick was within the rules too but that will cause a rule change.

I maintain that hit on Walsh on the siren was an illegal shoulder charge.

Tapine leads with the shoulder and doesn't attempt to wrap the arms until after contact.

Sounds like half the posters and a couple of threads on this site!
Yeah probably mate but we are fans on a fan forum and most of us are half cut while posting. Big difference between that and a coach that should be displaying leadership. When you are comparing a coach in a press conference to drunken fans it’s a problem and the point that you missed.

Haha, yea the whole night was my daughter asking what certain words meant. For some of them I just told her it was just the Raiders players names...
Ralph **** was involved in everything for the raiders last night.
