The team really lacked direction in attack. Mam played his regular style - yet restricted.

Madden just did not provide to be a prem half (better than BW still). For me its time to make plans for someone else beyond him to replace Reynolds. Maybe he has a light switch moment, but he looks too submissive to be a top 4 team leading half. Tonight was the perfect opportunity for him to break out.

The rest of the game was stifled by errors/penalty. Thankfully a deviation from the hail Mary type errors that we are used to.

Hunt and Baker, i really don't know. This was a game for them to step up completely. Stats wise they were "O.K" but impact and moments wise is a worry.
Don't agree. Billy at HB against the storm was far better than madden at HB ever

Madden just needs Kev to shift Billy to seven after Reynolds retires and Mozer ascends to the starting nine. I can guarantee that fans will be falling over themselves calling for him to start....

We're back to the first half of last year with some of our spine thinking every half chance is a reason to go for the low percentage play.

As much as I love Oates, Bennett was drooling once he was selected as wing and good old dropsy dick fingers delivered on queue. He's like that slow old 82 hilux ute that keeps turning up with solid carries - but his hands have been horrid for years. Tonight, his biggest contribution was destorying the hammer's hamstring - which actually probably gave us the edge to be fair, but that was bad luck for Hammer, nothing more. Oatsey put down bombs, wasn't in position for 2 potential tries, was too far in field for another and just ever so barely got to the try he scored. Defensively, he got caught out of position a few times and his actions directly contributed to two tries against us tonight.

He might be able to service a backup role off the bench for the second row, but he doesn't have the hands, defensive chops or speed to handle a wing role any longer and hasn't looked even half servicable there since Drinky broke his jaw which is a terrible shame. He had a horror run of injuries last year, but the games he did play after he came back from his jaw - he was equally as terrible as tonight.

Most of the team made errors tonight though so it's hard to be too tough on just Oates as there were lots of players deserving an absolute rocket after tonight - putrid handling all round. Giving away 8 penalties and 17 errors. Any half decent team takes that kind of display and puts 50 on us. Thankfully they were hot trash.
You’re bang on. I was filthy when Cobbo got the ball out wide and ended up having to take the tackle because he had no winger. If Oates was in position he scores.

Madden stifled a heap of plays just taking tackles and not passing on to the more damaging players. Was frustrating. The kick out the full was pretty ordinary.

Willing to let it slide and give him some more time but he’s showing **** all at the moment.

Defence was heaps better but complication rate still a major concern.
Seems to me the Dolphins were bad rather than us being good.
Give a better side that much ball and we would have been lapped.

Will we be at full strength for the game against Rotters?

Payne would be healing completely & the bonus of him coming back would be that the Ramadan season is behind him. Though underwent the rigorous fasting at this time of the year, he didnt played. So once he’s back fully healed, i reckon he would be one level above his usual self best.

Is Piakura on track to be available by R9?

Willison is a freak ...161m in 38 minutes is Haas like .... Hell dare I say even better than Haas.
I know I’m biased AF but I don’t remember seeing a forward that is this tall with his balance at his age. The bloke understands his centre of gravity and is always on the front foot. It’s crazy seeing someone that tall, muscular but with long limbs, and powerful, be coordinated. So impressive.

I think its debatable to say they were good tbh. As a team pretty much we were bang average, but we took advantage of the Dolphins errors.

I'm actually struggling to define this display tbh.
get in get the 2 points onto next week display imo lol

Why did they have to go and make things so complicated?

Dolphins sure have copped some injuries.. I know it's part of the game but sheesh they have been unlucky.

Imagine having Milford in your halves and Kodi as fullback to look forward to... oh wait :)

If Milford hadn’t been cosplaying as the Michelin man for the last half decade he should’ve been the choice for fullback.

Madden has proven that he just is not the answer. We need a better back up half in the future. Given Reynolds has 1 year left I’d be exploring other options and find someone with an elite kicking game and good in defence.

Oates is not up to standard as a winger anymore. He is okay as a bench spot for 20 min in second row and an option on wing if backline injuries but that’s it.

I knew I didn’t like the idea of arthars swapping sides, I think it impacted the combinations and his confidence a bit.

Baker and Hunt… Jesus. Terrible recruiting there. Baker especially. Surely after 2 back to back stinkers he’s out of the team. I’d be starting Willison and te Kura on bench until haas is back, and then Willison can go back to bench. Imagine taking off haas and replacing him with Willison? That would be huge.
