Morris added to squad for Cummins.

I just watched him live at the 'Gabba- he's express. Ripped Bulls apart yesterday and that period in the middle where they lost three quick wickets was brutal fast bowling.

Won't play either way, Boland will come in to the side if Cummins is ruled out.

Good reward for some solid FC form though.

He's levelled up the last two seasons, good reward. Shame that Jhye Richardson just keeps getting injured, I fear him and Pucovski might just not be part of the test team future sadly and understandably so given their respective issues.

I wouldn't mind seeing Scotty again, I love his terminator-like approach.

The same would've been thought about Cummins and all the injuries he picked up early on, but he came through it and is having an extremely successful career.

Plenty of time for these young guys

I sure hope so, these two guys are special. Pucovski though has the mental demons on top and he is more unlikely to be able to string anything continuous together unfortunately.

But believe me, I hope I'm wrong.

I reckon Jhye will be ok. He's not a huge guy and seems to have a good action, just picking up annoying injuries now, which I guess is why he wasn't given a CA contract because he's our best quick bowler outside the big 3. Big shame he isn't coming straight in for Adelaide.

Would love to see him bowling in England in the Ashes.

Neser in too. Thought he really lost his mojo WA first innings. No wickets and something was up.

I love watching him play though, closest thing Australia has to Ryan Harris.

Un-fun fact- first time since 2017 he's gone wicketless. Also, against WA 0/55.

I reckon Morris isn’t out of the running just yet. Bulls boys said scary fast and he’d scare a few blokes.

Long summer, and long tours coming up. If a chance to play presents. I’d be considering it.

Under lights at Adelaide with his wobble and swing he could get amongst it.

Way too soon to be throwing him into the team. He would be there to show him what the setup looks like. Boland deserves his shot.

Lance is just such an odd choice for a squad member of there wasn’t much chance of him playing. Would have easily have just gone to a Sean Abbott or someone who is quite used to that environment already. To go to the newish faced bloke who bowls absolute pump at 150 has a bit of wobble and possibly some good swing. He might be in with a shot. Although I couldn’t see that decision being heavily supported over Scott who quite literally has not put a foot wrong in his test career so far, like not even a millimeter. In saying that I reckon Scott is a lock for the MCG considering he made an unexpected debut as the mcg specialist let alone the MCG specialist with some amazing performances in shield and for Australia in the last 12 months. Love Nes but I think he is pretty out of the picture for this one.

Hazlewood looked out of sorts in the first test too, I wonder if both him and Cummins might be out. Boland and Morris in would be good to see.

Every single one of the current team would have played less than 18 games before their debut.

12 months ago not a soul in the world wanted Boland because he’d played too much Shield.

Labs? Carey? Lyon? Head?

Labs? Carey? Lyon? Head?

Lyon played four Shield games before his debut in a Test.

Head would have exceeded that by 100. I forgot about him.

Labuschagne 33 Shield games.
Carey 28 Shield games.

They just aren't playing enough Shield cricket anymore to wait for them to have played 100 games, you'll never play a Test.

Players are more ready than ever, earlier- look at Labuschagne av 39 and 33 games but averages 60 in Tests.

I am still about picking on performance but if a player is performing and a spot opens then I have softened in my stance on waiting for him to have scored 10,000 shield runs.

Cummins should 100% be missing this test, so who takes the C?

The fact that Smith is VC, means he should be captain. If they don't want to go with him, I hope they use Head.
