I hope the club go to Stadium management and tear them a new asshole, because that was just embarrassing out there tonight. We're lucky nobody got carted off with an achilles tear. How hard is it to maintain a playing surface at a world class stadium without it turning into a Battle of the Somme diorama??

It was atrocious, laughably bad.

You can't have a professional sport playing on shit like that, recipe for disaster.

Looks like the AFL have had the same issue at the MCG the last couple of nights, too.

I believe the long running warm temps are contributing to the poor surface. Winter time you will oversow the turf with Rye but the prolonged heat may be impacting it.

I'm sure a turf farmer around here will be able to provide more info.

Remember when it opened and there was more sand than the beach?

The worst thing is you've got the NRL going with this approach of wanting a game at Suncorp every week, if the surface is that bad.. I don't think the teams competing want to play there every week.

It's only Round 3 and I know it was due to a concert but we've got Magic Round coming up, the ground will probably host other sporting events, that looked genuinely dangerous last night.

There's 11 professional sporting events on the field between today and Magic round. 4 of them are Union matches.

Yeah it was bad enough watching our side get beaten game after game early on returning to Lang Park, worse was watching our injury toll skyrocket from the surface.

I know everyone is saying it’s overbooked, Union, concerts, warm weather, too much water blah blah blah… **** all that!
The team of d!ckheads looking after the ground are responsible. The players are at risk of a season ending injury, because someone can’t do their job.
It’s 2023 ffs, we have all the tech and know how. FIX IT or **** off and find someone who can!!!
