A few members of that brisbane team need a fucking rocket this week .. I just can't see how you can hope to win a premiership when you sit back as passively in defense as this team does and just allow the opposition to rack up massive metres on every set of six .. you simply cannot sit back and continually put that much pressure on your defence every god damn fucking week.

That was one way to ruin a Saturday night.

Disappointing effort, the Broncos were loose all game and the Panthers took advantage with their power game. Credit where it's due, I thought they were strong tonight Penrith. Peachey and Cartwright were a real handful and they slayed the Broncos down both edges.

I don't particularly understand Bennett's decision to keep Nikorima out on the field as long as he did. I'm a fan of the guy but it was evident the Panthers were targetting him (like they did Garvey) and more often than not the Broncos were caught short in defence. I guess it's all about the learning experience, giving Kodi a chance to step up but unfortunately on this evening it didn't pan out.

On the positive side, I thought McGuire was outstanding tonight. The way he was able to get himself involved was remarkable and one of the most disappointing aspects of the loss is that his performance will be glossed over. That play with 5 to go where Hunt raced out to prevent the field goal and McGuire was there in support actually made me really happy. It's why the loose pass from Kodi really hurt.

I think it's a case of the Broncos being off, the Panthers being a team we typically struggle against, a couple of lucky bounces and that's all she wrote.

Fucking disgusted with that second half. That was abysmal. The Panthers had no right to get back into the game, but we didn't even look like we wanted to be there. No Offa, wtf? We could really have used his energy in the second half, I smell something's up. Did Wayne throw this to keep us focused on next week??? I don't know what else to say, I'm cranky at that.

Hunt has to get his head right, there's something wrong there. Milf and Gillett were fucking awesome, and Moose was everywhere.

An off night, that's all it is.

We've been winning despite playing below our best. We finally went up against a team that showed more hunger and more fight and they got the better of us. Last year, we could have won. This year, with the reduced interchanges, it was always going to make it a lot more difficult. Plus, we tend to play below our best at that stadium lately.

Broncos will recover and come back stronger next week.

When you're cruising and let a try in right on half time that happens more often than not

odd points :

-no offa
-straight line defence was missing
- one game we don't take shots a at goal is the game we need them
-nikorima came on to do a job and failed big time, barely run and made quite a lot of mistakes

we know now what kills the Broncos and that's second phase play that was out of control how many offloads went to hand for Penrith

While we're talking about Hunt being out of form, I thought tonight was Nikorima's worst game of his career, some really poor service out of dummy half (Probably about 3 forward passes that weren't called, and the one that lead to the Hunt knock-on), an error and a penalty conceded.

Milford, McGuire, Gillett & Eden are the only 4 players I'm willing to praise for that game.

6 missed tackles from Hunt as well just quietly, very sloppy game all around, but as it's been said, we needed to have a game like this, next week should be different, can't see us being that underdone 2 weeks in a row.

That was shit all round.

Second week that the refs decide that we aren't entitled to a penalty for one of our blokes getting his head knocked off.

That set that led the Hunt knock on at the end....**** me....how's about a fucking penalty for a hold down....and the last penalty, Kahu was not offside......

And gee we couldn't buy a slice of luck either....how many bounces of the ball go their way???

I found the choice to not take the two at all a little interesting.

And I thought Parker made some really ordinary attempts in defence. And I thought his attempt at trying to stop a field goal was pretty ordinary, as well.

I agree i wouldn't be surprised if Bennett did throw the game to get us switched on for next week we have been just going threw the motions

That is the worst second half I have seen ANY team play in years.

Super bizarre we didn't take any shots at penalty goal at times when it actually made sense too...

Why didn't we get any footage of the supposed off side from Kahu

Why didn't we get any footage of the supposed off side from Kahu

I rewound it and had a look straight after, he was about a metre off-side, maybe less, it was line ball.

Awful. Joe was already pissed after only getting 15mins last week. Why have young forwards if you're not going to use them?

It showed as soon as we started playing 'offload every set' that we were going to lose, or at least concede a lot of points. Zero patience. Kodi played too many minutes and needs to work on his DH passing if he wants to stay in that role. We seemed to have no forward wanting to dominate, Moose tried but ended up doing more fullback work than anything.

Milf was great, but also guilty of trying to do everything inside the one possession a set he got, probably sensing where the game was headed and trying to reverse it. Reed had a Reed game, the luck that goes with him on a good day wasn't there. Roberts just can't get going and killed us with that bad pass that lost us 15m. Eden had a good game catching bombs. Worth persisting with.

Gillett still killing everything in defence and, like Roberts, needs more space in attack. He gets the ball when everyone's flat-footed. Seemed like Blair played 25 mins max and Corey just needs to hit the ball up and not try and offload every time. Also can we officially revoke his kicking privileges?

Ironically, this was a display of Griifin-era football at its best/worst.
