From Chris Garry.

This would make a lot more sense for all in involved, Hunt would have a nice partnership with Cleary, he can play his natural running game whilst Cleary takes control of the bulk of the playmaking duties.

Would be a very dangerous combo I think.

Yeah see this is all a massive media bidding war. Agent driving up his price to get a better deal from the Broncos. How it all works. This'll be his big time contract. Manager is pulling out all the stops

The thing we need most is a prop.

I'd rather release McGuire and Gillett to get a prop rather than Hunt to get a halfback who we can develop (only for someone else to pinch).

Ps pretty sure Milford doesn't want to partner a work experience kid.
Sorry mate, stopped reading after that bold bit... you can't be serious.

Broncos want Hunt locked in long term. This is fact. What Bennett wants, he usually gets!
Can't see Hunt going anywhere.

Terrible choice if we do sign him long term at the current point in time. After his performance in 2016 we shouldn't even be contemplating spending significant money out of our salary cap on him. Unless his first 4 months in 2017 is the best 4 months of his entire career, I think we should let him walk.

I genuinely believe that 2015 might've been his peak and if we sign him for 3 or 4 more years we might be getting 3 or 4 more years of the 2016 version of Hunt, or dare I say, a worse version.

So Ben Hunt is not an organiser (allegedly), but our best options to replace him are players like Marshall (not an organiser), Elgey (not an organiser), Jack Bird (not an organiser, potentially not even a half), Maloney (not an organiser), or a rookie? Okey dokey.

And now Penrith are courting Hunt, right after Gus called him an overpriced 3-bedroom home? Fantastic bargaining there, has Negging finally entered the realm of professional sports recruitment?

So that all but rules out ash taylor back to broncs
We had no mortgage on him. He's doing just fine on his own without us and good on him. Titans signed him fair and square, they deserve to keep him. Just like we deserve to keep hunt. (Well, maybe some of the fans don't necessarily deserve him)

Are you just basing that on the fact that they have Ashley Taylor? Because in 2014 he was the best half in the NYC & in 2015 he was looking like one of the best young organising Halfbacks in the comp, he has the works, passing, short-kicking, running.

He's actually a pretty similar player to Taylor in terms of talent from what I've seen of them both.

I'm basing that on the fact that I haven't seen much in the way of composure or game management. Granted, it's only from watching his NRL games, not the U20's, but there's **** all organising going on in the 20s anyway, it's a "who drops the ball less wins" comp.

I haven't seen much in the way of composure or game management out of Hunt and he's played 160 games of NRL. At some point even the most loyal Hunt supporters are going to have to at least entertain the idea that he's never going to be improve the areas of his game that we DESPERATELY need him to improve in. He's had so many years, so many off-seasons, so many mentors to help him in those areas, and it just hasn't happened.

You may well be right.

But I actually believe that this will be his best year so far.

Guess we will have to wait and see.

It's tricky - because for a lot of us, he has this year and this year only to prove himself. It's a gamble one way or the other. At his peak, he is amazing. But his valleys are low, too low for someone his age with his experience. I hope you are right - but why is he going to have his best year so far? Did he need to put a year between him and the 2015 GF?
