This could actually be good news for Copley..

Titans were chasing Simona and Copley and I heard they were preferring Simona over Copley.

Tim Simona faces fresh allegations over betting on Wests Tigers games

WESTS Tigers star Tim Simona is facing fresh allegations that he arranged for bets to be placed on opposition players he was marking during NRL matches to score tries against his side.

The NRL dropped a betting bombshell last week when they issued Simona with a notice of intention to cancel his registration.
The Tigers centre was alleged to have placed a string of minor bets — including being the first tryscorer and scoring multiple tries in a game — during a betting spree last season.

But it appears those allegations have worsened for the fallen star, with Fairfax Media reporting today that Simona also used someone else’s account to place bets on opposition players he was marking to score tries.
If the allegation are proven, Simona could be banned from the NRL for life.

The Daily Telegraph learned of the original claims on Friday, including that Simona’s exotic bets were placed with a leading corporate bookmaker during last season.

There were numerous small bets, in a lot of cases as little as $10, and in an account understood to be not in Simona’s name.
NSW Police are not yet involved but the NRL’ Integrity Unit could hand over any findings and evidence once Simona has fronted the panel.

In a statement last week, the NRL said Simona would take no further part in the Tigers’ preseason preparations until the matter was sorted.

“The notice relates to alleged breaches of the rules relating to gambling on NRL matches,” the statement read.

“Simona will now be prohibited from training or playing with the club until the matter is finalised.

“He will be given a chance to respond to the allegations before a final determination is made.’’

It is understood the NRL received a tip-off informing them of Simona’s betting activity.

If new allegations against Simona are proven, then his sporting career is definitely over as it will no longer just be betting on the sport he plays, but could be deemed as match fixing

Jail time would be well on its way for Simona if that's the case

You'd be furious if you were a Tigers fan.

It'd be interesting to see how his tigers teammates would be feeling, usually in these circumstances the team rallies around the player but if he was doing what they're saying...

Can't see them being too happy.

Not wrong! Especially when you consider how close they were to playing finals. The team's busting a gut while he is potentially letting in tries. I'd be furious!

I doubt Hayne will be anywhere near the player he was before he left this season.
