That's ashame he didn't progress. Would be nice to have some of our future stocks go to the next level.

i think it has more to do with lodge and hass coming through. not many spots left.
he could well end up staying, arrow is still yet to commit along with fai so a bit may depend on them for those cover spots in the squad

You all know who always turns up to play against the bronco. Shaun bloody Johnson. With Foran there too this is gonna be tough.

Yeah ok! Thought arrow was a done deal.

True , you think the broncs aren't keen or looking for a start ?
Titans were sniffing around last time ofa came off contract and broncos only just retained him.

I can't see us keeping him this time around as he's not getting any opportunities with us. He'll probably go to the titans and be straight into their 17 if not starting.

I can see either him or Arrow being the titans lock next year

Im ok with that if we get ash back !!

Am I the only one who really looks forward to seeing the makeup and performance of our origin period teams ?

I've always felt that a stout performance, even a losing one at that, makes me feel good about the team generally. I like seeing the lesser lights proudly defending the teams honour and I even occasionally feel the thrill of the underdog having a win against the odds. These games I anticipate with the sense of having nothing to lose. What's even better is the exposure and experience it gives to guys who aren't always there.

I support this thinking.

Similarly I just like seeing new players in the team and how they go, along with the rest of a mostly rookie side. Either known future 17'ers or the left-field selections that have a red hot crack. Plus it's always nice to claim players that leave and become (good) regulars at other clubs. Although aside from Taylor, they've been few and far between lately.

I can't see us winning this game unfortunately. I hate the dreaded Origin period. I seriously pray it doesn't derail our season as we've set ourselves up in a good position. Praying for no injuries or suspensions.

I feel like I get into this mode and get excited to see new faces... and then tigers 2016 happens and the mega loathing of origin begins. I feel like this team is back to 2015 form more so than last year, where chinks were apparent despite winning.

In saying that I would like to see broncos go with byes in 12 & 18 or 19 rather than 15 and 18. To effectively break the season into 3 definitive sections; early season, origin and end/finals.

Also gives us an idea of who we will lose for origin and can then plan players appropriately. Unlike now where we've been hit with losing milf on top of the guaranteed's Gillette, Boyd, etc. We also know that Oates is preferred again.

Last year we looked very fatigued heading into origin, which is another issue with leaving the first bye till round 15

the Courier Mail is reporting that Benji is favoured to start in the 6 and Partner Hunt in the halves ... Nikorima also in the running to start.

If Bennett selects Benji over Nikorima he has officially lost his marbles

Perhaps there is more to it.. Like Macca being out.

Waddell can't play 80 and Kodi is better at that utility role than Benji.

McCullough is reportedly doing well and expected to play (still needs to pass concussion test) according to the CM

THE Broncos have lost six stars to Origin to set them up for a big showdown with the Warriors this Saturday.

Brisbane will begin their preparations for the clash in Auckland today, with Ben Hunt expected to return from a hamstring injury to guide the team around the park.

It will be a comeback the Broncos need, as they’re down three forwards, a winger, a fullback and a five-eighth.

Benji Marshall is favourite to take Maroons bolter Anthony Milford’s No. 6 jersey on Saturday, but Kodi Nikorima is also in the running to start.

With six players already out, the Broncos will also be sweating on the fitness of Andrew McCullough following a sickening head clash for the rake in Friday’s win over the Tigers.

McCullough is reportedly doing well and is expected to play but will need to pass a concussion test first.

Why couldn't Waddell play 80 ? He did in his last two matches for the Broncos. He actually played very well deputising for McCullough.

I really don't like news articles anymore. It's always the little things that bug me. E.g in the above article they say it was a head clash, I would have preferred head knock or head injury. I read in another article they used eluded instead of alluded.

Do they even have editors anymore? Do the editors even study English writing courses?
