Noticed that Sportsbet have us at 7.00 second favorites to win the comp next year even ahead of the Storm who are at 8.00

Whilst its nice that they obviously think that we are going to have a good year in 2019 (and I hope they're right) I think they are pricing us on potential and not proven ability and that looks under what I think we should be.

I'd say they also expect Wayne to be coaching us again as well.

There are no excuses next year.

We've got the side needed to win a premiership, it's going to come down to how badly the players want it.

There are some concerns. I don't think we have the gameplan that suits our strengths and I don't like the way we go about the defensive side of things. But we'll see what happens.

But it's not two years out, he's the current assistant so that would need to be fixed in the next month and they want a coach by the end of the year so he'd be out of it.

So if he was to get the Manly job it would have an effect on the Broncos before the end of the year.

• Our current assistant coach might leave. So what? Assistant Coaches come and go from clubs constantly. Maybe he's not that important, who knows, I mean, Kearney had the job, can't be that big of a deal.

Contracts end October 31 so I wouldn't be surprised if November 1 new deals are announced that don't involve the players current management.

• Board should have been interviewing players halfway through the season when they decided they needed too and should now be announcing his replacement. Because some coaches said they wouldn’t be making a decision until now doesn’t mean they couldn’t be interviewed in readiness.

• Yes but said winger was our leading try scorer.

Anyway Nashy, like you, I’m entitled to my opinion which is i’m far from happy with how things have been handled and are being handled this year by our senior management. Better times ahead - go the Broncs.

More than welcome to your opinion, not one person has denied you of that, so not sure why you feel the need to make a point of it.

It's not interfering with his main job, I'm not sure where you feel it's falling down. You talk about Kearney being a D coach (He was assistant), but then state that Bennett should be here working on it? The lads aren't even back at training yet, and you want him home? If Kearney can get the D working, but JD can't, is it really an issue that Manly want him?

No one knows what the board had planned. But it's not like they could demand interviews with people, they had to wait, and they also had to make decision about the future of Wayne, which was made after the season, from memory.

You cant seriously think that this scenario is more a story about brisbane then about manly? Lol... the headline implies its got more to do with brisbane then anything else, it doesnt. It will be manlys coach if it happens, not ours. If we got john cartright as our next coach you think the headline would be “big manly coaching development” in the paper?

Look, I know that these types of tests are important for your everyday job - hell I have been through a number of them over the years myself when applying for various roles. I just don't get the point of having this type of test for a bloody football coach?!

Sure there is probably some value in it in terms of trying to determine how each applicant may perform under pressure and that sort of thing. I just thought for a club like the Broncos it would be a matter of the board knowing who they wanted and going out and getting them! Whether that be Maguire, Seibold or whoever.

I guess they tried that with Bellyache and it failed, so they have resorted to a stock standard interview process now. I dunno I just feel that psychometric testing is somewhat irrelevant for a head NRL coach for a club as big as ours.

It’s to find out if any of them have a deep down burning desire to coach England.

They probably consulted with numerous consultants who referred to their consultancy manuals and procedures which says this is now how you have to do these things in order to give the impression that you are a large, important and professional organisation.

Of course such advise comes with a large consutlancy fee................. so clearly if you are paying people lots of money to give you advise it must be right. :grazy:

Surely the board, particularly blokes like Locky, would know if a guy like Maguire, Walters, Hasler or whoever is up to the task or not! Why **** around with these airy fairy psychosemetric tests? **** me, someone like Dean Pay or Sticky could pass the test with flying colors but it wouldnt mean they are the right man to coach the broncos.

Maybe its just so it can be seen the board is following 'due process' or something.
